The Game persists in nominating my sons and grandsons to bishoprics. Even those in the direct line of succession. I would like that to stop, because the game *ALWAYS* chooses my best and brightest. I've managed to avoid disaster thus far, by keeping a pool of non royal courtiers about; so whenever the game tries to sacrifice my Genius Strong heir upon the altar of religion, I always have someone relatively suitable to take his place.
But this thing with the game always nominating my heirs for bishoprics is a recent thing, and I can only think that the Charly DLC is to blame. I've had SoA for a while now, but I didn't start having this problem until I installed Charly.
I'm playing Wessex, 867 start, so it's Free Investiture, and I'm not sure why, but changing to Papal Investiture won't be possible until at least 1000 AD.
I still would like to know *WHY* this keeps on happening...
