I recently got the game, and I am certainly enjoying the challenge of playing HoI2 but I'm still learning all the mechanics of the game. In my current campaign I got a minor problem concerning my attempts to merge two separate units of advanced fighters into one army/air force.

Here is the set up, I have two squadrons of Fighters, I want to join them up to have them under the same commander, i.e. in the same air force. But it wont let me, the icon for merging units does not appear?

Thing is it works for my two interceptor squadrons why not the fighters? I can merge infantry, armour units just fine. As well as other air force units, but these two fighter squadrons seem to be not working?

Its April 30th 1939, I'm playing as Poland, for God's sake I need a decently organised air force to save me!

I'm loving the game, and I'd love it even more If I could get round this annoying issue.

Thanks in advance! :D

Make sure that both squadrons are not on any missions. If one is on say, Air Supremacy mission, and the other one is not, it will not merge them. Have them both on No mission and then try to merge them........
