I want to form Germay using "the conservative empire" event. I went to war over slesvig and won. Anexing Hosltein and acuired Flensburg from denmark.
I then decliened the frankfurt assembly in 1848 but the conservatve event doesnt trigger in 1851.. ive tried to stop all rebellions in the minors but I cant be sure if they all are monarchies or con monarchies.

is there a way to check their political system??

I think the ledger contains information about it, but I can't remember which page.

Yes indeed - first sub section in the ledge - about 3-6th page.
If you go into ledger, you won't miss it. You can also sort by Government within that same page. :)

They need to be monarchies or constitutional monarchies. And the best way to keep the minors that way is to help them squelch revolts. In games where I've tried, from the beginning, to put down rebels in the minor states, I've never seen one go democratic of its own free will. If it does, make sure you invade it before 1851, I guess.

Does making them satellite states change their govermental form? Because I always see Hannover and Bavaria go democratic, which isn't nice. It almost seems easier to go for the popular unification by annexing the one-province minors which don't transform into democracies.

Well, they had revolts like all other German minors, but the rebels didn't occupy the capital. I supposed they just implemented social reforms...

yes. but I cant really anex them. That will lead to having austria and the other states upp my ass.

Most minor's defense pacts with Austria are invalid against Prussia, so you should be ok. Bavaria is an exception though.

LOL. Started a new game. Bavaria had none revolts and they still got democratic. As early as 1843 aswell. I send like 5 div expeditionary force but..

Hanover got democratic at the same time but they had a few revolts. But they defeated them all..

I think its got to be something wrong with 1.03 with this..

No I don't think so. Although there wasn't much democracy in Ger in 1851 historically, the Conservative Empire event in Vicky is almost too easy. I like the fact that you most of time have to beat France.

btw I've just seen the "zollverein" event for the first time. What a mess for Germany... :D

If you see revolters in other german minor states help them to fight the revolters, also i've added in my industrialism mod(see sig) an ai file for each german minor through which the minors are more likely to build troops and this should make it easier for them to resist these revolts.
Another point is if an revolt is successfull all alliances are broken which makes it easy to annex them! :D
