So I'm a big fan of German Unification. I don't know why but I've always loved playing Prussia in V2 and loved the sphering and such that went into it.

welp, it took me two games to figure out that you have to use the CULTURE TAB.

In this game the UI folks put unification related stuff in the journal section, the dislocation section to get unified markets and the culture tab.

Took me two games to find that. Had no idea...the culture tab has a sub tab and in there you have to hit form Germany. Boom. So even there is also a journal event for the same type of activity it's actually there.

Just found this via search. Started sighing and weeping for realizing I could've formed Germany multiple years prior in the game and haven't.

Thanks marshman. :)

Another tip here: If you get friendly with all major powers in the region to the point of them liking you more than your rival, you'll have a very easy time. Launch Unification Play for the leadership role, get all GP/MP on board, your rival will usually back down (or get rekt) and from then on everyone liking you more or less automatically supports your unification.

Support means no infamy. It's possible to form Germany in the late 1830's/early 1840's for less than 10 infamy.

I remember reading the dev diary about unification mechanics, but found absolutely nothing about it in the game outside of some journals so I thought they just scrapped it.

This would've made my Germany game so much simpler...
