I think he's trying to say that your question is SO very vague and open ended as to be meaningless.

My answer to your original question is: I like it.

If you would like to compare it with EU 2, one of the advantages would be that, if you want to conquer the globe quick and swiftly, its possible to force annex whole nations at once. :)

Another one is that you can shut off the annyoing random events, in case you dont want any. That is only possible to do if you got AGC in EU 2.

Hey I like this thread... :D  ;)

Bah, that's bollocks my dear Yoghurt. The simple emptying of a file will lead to an eventless game.

Still, EU is one of the best games ever.

Exactly my point my dear Barkdreg. In EU 1 you have the option to play without random events, if you would like that. In EU 2 you have to play with random events, wether you like it or not, unless you use AGC to remove them. Witch would make EU 1 a bit sharper this way, as it atleast give the player the option to choise how he wants to play his game, without using add-ons.

:)

but you don't need any add-on
let me explain how to do this

open the randomevents.txt file in europa universalis2/db/events
select all, delete, save

hey presto, no random events

Ah one of these devilish EU 2 secrets then :D K, I take my add on thingy back  , but then on the other hand EU 1 offer the player the option to have random events or not without that the player have to delete anything in any file.... :D ;)
