I second that. When I played as Korea, I used tons of galleys on the ocean. I didn't feel it was an exploit, though, because I lost so many of them to storms and attrition.

galleys are certainly not exploits, they sink for no reason in the ocean! Btw, my favorite use of privateers is to deter enemy landings, constant fighting against cheap pirates make invasions impossible. they are especially useful in the baltic and if you are playing a USA campaigne (the brits are restricted to using Canadian troops, and we all know how good those are:D )

I commissioned privateers in the great lakes once.

Eventually they dissappeared, I don't see why because they are ai controlled so there is no attrition and there is no one to sink them... so what happened to them? :confused:
