Chairman Vilms, with Mr. Chamberlain-Beaulieu's departure, I have some strong concerns about the future of the party.
Where are we going? How do we intend to capitalize on our gains in the last election? And how do we intend to get new members?
Also, this party appears at many times to be speaking with very different voices. We need some solid party positions on the issues of the day, such as homosexual marriage, the status of the WET, and the current strike.
Further, we need to replace Mr. Chamberlain-Beaulieu at MHES, preferably with an RPE member. I may have a suggestion on that front, but it is somewhat complex. I shall write you a memo (PM) if you are interested.
This party, and I address this to all members, needs some discipline. We cannot attack each other; we must present a united front. Civil argument is the order of the day, not petty squabbling. When we have an issue, we should discuss it, vote on it, adopt the majority position, and then support it.
I call on all party members to list their current policy concerns, so we can determine what the party's position should be on the matter.
I call on all party members to be civil and intelligent when they deal with questions from non-party members.
Finally, I ask all party members to contribute an idea for legislation. Let us, the RPE, be the driving force in the National Assembly.
