Comrade Zuba. If you think your persuasions in parliament will change the Unemployment Bill to the way you want it, then feel free to continue debate.
Personally, I'm against it. We have a working Unemployment Insurance scheme now. Talbott only wants to change it so he can pay out less. He may disguise it with clever wording...but the short of it is that claimants will suffer if they have working spouses, savings, etc.
Plus, it's a beaurocratic nightmare, the way he divides people into groups and all that. Right now we have a scheme were everybody is entitled to 60 or 65 per cent of their wages for a set period of time. It works well.
Keep in mind, Talbott's proposal is a proposal from a supporter of Business and Capitalism. It can't be good.
I plan on a few changes myself next term if we have the power.
