OK comrades. Burning the midnight oil here. Things are moving swiftly.
It's still theoretical at this juncture. But I need to know where we stand. I know some have voiced an opinion but I need to make it official.
So, I'm asking for a vote. A simple Yeah or Nay. No abstentions please.
If the RD fields a presidential candidate AND if the MP SUPPORTS that candidate DOES the ESRP agree to ALSO support the RD candidate if we get our fair share of executive power? It's not exactly a coalitiion like the CPR...but it's a reasonable facsimilie.
There are five of you. Please vote. I'll go with the majority. There's no right or wrong...I want your true opinion. Bill, you've been quiet. Please vote. I need an answer ASAP.

On a side note, Capt. Tretiakov...there's a new bill being proposed in parliament about military reform. I'd like you to tell us what you think of it.

Nay to the RD-MP question, I've already explained my here.
As for military reform bill - well, I'm not too crazy about it, to say the least. I can repeat what I said during the leftist convention...
It's sad that I could not have any input in the work of the comission and I think this bill really is basically just a waste of money in the long term...
F-16 problem is the one that kills me the most. F/A-18 is an extremely exciting plane and if US sells it, I'll be first to commend a great purchase. F-16 though... It is distant past. Eather we get all F-18s (veeeery expensive) or settle on not really worse and multiple times cheaper Su-30.
As for the rest - Naval plan sounds great and ground force is not really bothering me, since it is not one of vital importance to the island nation.

a firm yeah. Any coalition will do. I'll even go to bed with the devil to have power and crush the fascist menace!
OK. Motion carries 4-2. If we are approached to support the RD president --regardless of any deal they have with the MP-- we support them.

hmm, looking at RD's platform, they're definetely much closer to us than MP. Normally we shoudn't have any major problems with allying them (God, we're almost the same thing!). What the hell are they looking for with MP?

Of course. The RD are about as left of centre (at least on paper) as you coulb be...they just know enough not to put the word "Sociailst" in their party name. The MP, are (on paper) a moderate party, in reality they've been moving to the right of Atilla the Hun. They just know enough not to put the word "Socialist" in their name as in "national socialist party"
We would always chose the RD as our allies. And historically they have been. The discussion we've been having is whether to join a coaliton with the MP AND the RD. Never the MP alone.
In any case I have a strong feeling it isn't going to happen. I believe the MP will ally with the right and the EPP. If this happens, the RD would then have to chose between them and us. I'm hoping they chose correctly.

One person we have to watch out for is Jake Langley. I made comments in the past to an interviewer that Jake is the shrewdest politician in Eutopia. As a politiican I respect him a lot.
