Feel free to post your thoughts on the Liberterian Party in our newspaper. You can start a thread if you want, though.
As far as gun ownership goes, my own personal view is that the less guns around the better off we are. I mean, we wouldn't want the people to revolt against us.:)

Also, regarding a previous point you made about Eutopia. Eutopia, under the game parameters, is an island. No matter how much of a majority we get, that point sticks. Even communists can't turn an island into a landlocked country.:)

[OOC] I would like to say that the party can only have 2 threads, 1 is the party HQ and the other a voting pool I'm not sure ( Finnaly I went to the dictonary to see how the word is written :D , I'm so lazy :p ) if you can creat a thread like weyoun said. Probably the better way is to post that in your newpaper or Weyoun creat his who newpaper ;) [/OOC]

I'm glad to see that this party grown and is becaming the 3th party in our beloved island, I'm hoping in future cooperation :)

I would like to say that the better way to make politics isn't making attack one other parties. Some of you may remeber what happen betwen my and the FR party.
A healthy discuss it's the better way, like you can see...

What? why is the number of threads that a party may have limited? how can we do our campaigns then? how will we publish flyers and posters and advertisements?
are we expected to sit in our thread and wait until people come (by chance) and win the elections by only the votes of our members???

[OOC] That are the rules. I would not be very funny if one party created 20 threads, to "publish" that party, this is a way to make the parties HQ allways in the 1º page [/OOC]

You can publish by entering other parties HQ and making some wealthy discusson. Writing in some newpaper ( your if you whant ) and entering some NGOs and unions threads and show your points of view.

Not at all Comrade Bramarius. Welcome aboard. I'll officially enter you into our list of members later on; but consider yourself a member and feel free to give us your thoughts.

To all members: Our party list is growing. This is good. We have a reasonable chance of winning seats in the next parliament. We should now begin considering some sort of strategy....

Thank you very much, Josephus!
I would like to give all my view on how our environmental policies should be.

Our initial point is that the nature is there for the human, but we have to be wise and not use it excessive because a radical change of the nature that will be caused by an unwise use will have to lead to worse conditions for the human. the situation of nowadays is very alarming. if it goes on like that, devasting events will follow. But it can be so easy to solve environmental problems!!! there are countries that get more than 70% of their energy from recycleable sources. also, if all those oil lobbies or nuclear lobbies wouldnt block new inventions that bring better and more environmental technologies, situation can be made much better quite easily.

I agree that nature should not be used exessively, but not only because it would be bad for humans. In my opinion animals should also have rights. This, since humans are in essence also animals and we are against discrimination.

We should also promote the use of 'green' products, like solar energy. This can be done by subsidising. Another way of accomplishing these things, which is in our line of development for the country, is taking over all energy companies, but since that will not happen very likely on the short term we should settle initially with the first.
Also I think the governemt should switch completely to 'green' energy.

Finally I think Fishing and hunting should be strictly regulated and controlled.

Well, that's it for now. I hope you'll agree with me.

Greetings, Bram Borgman

PS: Can I post in our newspaper too?:)

Bramarius, I like your suggestion re: the environment and hunting as well.

I think our short-term aim should be to penalize corporations/factories for excessive pollution. We can also make it mandatory for factories to limit pollution--give them a year to comply. This is a double-edged sword as it A) Actually deals with the environment and B) Deals with corporations which we are against anyways.

Our long-term goal should be to nationalize as much corporations as we can.

Anyways, yes Bramarius, our newspaper is open to all members of the Party.

Well, our HQ has been quiet for a few days. Hope everyone is OK.

Out of interest, any of you read the agenda of the Centralistic Royalist Party? While they support the need for a Queen or King, which we are obviously against, a lot of their platform is pretty left-of-centre. Something to think about when considering a coalition, perhaps?

I've read the program of the royalists, and I wouldn't reject a coalition with them right away. But they would have to give in on some subjects, like the death penalty, which I think is unacceptable.

Absolutley...the one thing I'm against is compromise of any kind....I'm just throwing out ideas. The Rally for Democracy might still be the party to join with. I was just surprised that a monarchist party can be so left wing. But we are in agreement about the death penalty. We will never compromise on that. When I first formed the party with the AWOL Sartorius, the one thing we agreed on is that we won't compromise any of our principles in order to achieve power. I think most of you agree on that and that is cool.
So what I'm thinking is that when the next elections come up, we send out two ambassadors to the RD and Monarchists, and see which party we feel the more comfortable with. Personally, i think, overall the RD is still the best choice.

I agree with you that the RD is the best choice, but if necessairy we could also join a three-party coalition with the RD and the CRE.

Something different: could anyone please explain to me our standing point towards the military?

Regarding our military....Personally I see Eutopia as neutral and non-interventionist. As such, we only need an army capable of home defence. I think our current conscription policy is sufficient...with a small cadre of professional officers and perhaps a para military unit.

Of concern, to me, is the fact that despite being neutral, NATO operates a military base in Eutopia---which must be removed.

I agree with this, except one thing: I think our conscription laws are not ok. Why is there only male conscription and do females not have to serve in the army?

yeah, I missed that. Since we believe in sexual equality, we should consider conscripting women with certain exceptions--mothers for example.

Regarding my opinion on the military.

Being a drill seargeant (I get to shout at people :)) I think we need to put more emphasis onto trained, full time soldiers rather than conscripts, who can be remarkably poorly trained and unready for combat. Also, @I think we do need a fairly active military force, and if I do rise through the ranks in the army, I shall try my hardest to get the reforms we need. As for the female conscripts, that is also a good idea.

Shiiuga,

I think a conscript army, although poorly trained, is an affordable solution. As long as we have a small, but well-trained professional army capable of multi-tasking roles. That is, what I have in mind is a professional army that can respond to crises all over the island and fast.

But your experience is noted. The minute we take over--er win the government--you will become Chief of the Military.

Personally, I'm a pacifist, and thus against any military. I do recognise however that that would be suicide.

Therefore I suggest a full professionalization of the army (no conscripting at all), since conscripts often make very bad soldiers.
