Ah, I'd still rather wait and see the vote totals. Make sure that Langley has OFFICIALLY gotten off the ballot before we promise an CC offices, see how many RD & ESRP (and MP ! ) votes are received for parliament versus our presidential count, etc.

I'd also really like to get the other parties to give us an evaluation of what they think they did and who in their party did it. I want to make sure that John has the best workers in his cabinet and not a bunch of patronage-stooges who happen are there to collect government paychecks and little else.

(OOC: Not to be harsh to any real player, just trying to be a little righteous about getting good people for all of these jobs! ;) )

Also, let's think about what happens if we win the Presidency but are blown out of the parliament. I'd love to be in the parliament, but if I don't get in, maybe I could get a ministry or deputy position instead?

And, not to keep going on this, but what about situations where, for example, everyone demands the MECT. ;) If they know they're not going to get it (because we announce that you will get it, for example) would they still support the coalition?

I say keep a poker face and wait until we see what cards are dealt before we show our hand.

Jack

I know who the RD will say: Sebastian Fitzpatrick.

And I say, sure, announce my nomination after they deal the cards!

:D ;) :p

Whoa, I hope you're quoting the wrong part!

I hope you don't think Fitzpatrick is a "patronage stooge", he's been one of our best ministers and most active in the coalition. He tried to stop that damned university bill of the CRE and has been involved with everything from the Workers Bill of Rights to the Military Reform Commission.

Of course, you probably just meant that you think he'd be one of the people who wanted the education ministry, right? ;) :D

All I meant was that we didn't want some allied party to demand the right to put someone we've never seen before into a position because he or she was threatening to leave their party or something. :)

I'm probably just wiped out from the campaign tour. I can't believe they've extended the election. Don't get me wrong, it makes perfect sense, I just don't know that I'll surivive that long!

Welcome Mr. Collins, we're glad to have you! And, as luck would have it, you're just in time to vote!

[OoC send a PM to Melanchthon with your candidate for President and your party choice for parliament...I recommend our own John O'Floinn for Pres and Moderate Party for Parliament :D]

Josef,

Welcome to the Party! We are in the middle of the elections, so there are all sorts of things going on, planned debates, public speeches, etc.

There are also plenty of opportunities in the government (if...excuse me, I mean when we win again :D !) and the private sector. I'm sure everyone here would be willing to help you find something you'd be interested in if you are looking for a job or some sort of government service.

Feel free to jump in. No one's shy around here, except Charles. :p

Again, welcome to the party.

Jack Teano
Moderate Party Chairman

(OOC: Where are you from in NC? I'm from Raleigh!)

For two people who speak the same language, we always seem to misunderstand each other! :p

Okay, glad to hear it. Sorry I didn't get what you were saying. :)

P. Petrus (Petrus) - One of Eutopia's earliest political leaders, recently returned after time away.

Ivan Urvanov (LordScod) - A new member of the party

Well, even if you can't vote you're still eligible for a place in the government if we win.

We've just approved legislation in parliament to reorganize our ministries. (OOC: Take a look a few pages back in this thread to see the new ones) While the job of minister would likely go to a veteran of Eutopian politics, we could work to get you a Deputy Minister seat in whatever field you would like.

Take a look around and let us know what interests you,

Jack

(OOC: Ah yes, Davie County. On Highway 64 isn't it? My best friend's grandmother lives out there. Small world. )

Possibly something in the education field?
(OOC: I live right on Highway 64. Davie County is your typical rural, boring, small-town county.)

If I become Minister of Education, Culture, and Technology, I have already picked an Advisor on Educational Affairs. However, if one of the following jobs suits you, then "you name it, you got it":

Advisor on Post-Secondary (University) Education
Advisor on Secondary Education
Advisor on Elementary/Primary Education
or Little Kid Education :)

Also, if I am the new MECT I could easily get you a spot on the Education Commission or whatever it is called.

Anything sound interesting to you?
