[ooc: I'm operating under the assumption that I do not know what goes on in the DP Commission, since it is semi-private?]

Vasco, are those Mr. Roger Smith's exact words? Where did he utter them? In personal conversation with you, or in a public venue?

In any case, Roger, if that is your opinion, I fear that it is so far away from the general RD position, that you should not be acting as a party representative on this issue.

I think that for the parties own good you should keep your thoughts for your self or INSIDE THE PARTY not to defend them in public... AGAINST THE PARTIES AGENDA... I belive you should reconsider or position inside the comitions... if you want to keep your thoughts DON'T BE PART OF IT... if you want to defend the parties ideials... Continue!!!

[OOC: I would think it must be public information. Several of the other commissions are in this forum and are obviously private. Since it's in the public forums I've been going under the assumption that it is a public meeting, although only some people have the right to speak, ala parliament.]

When you aspire a prominent position in the party, you are expected to maintain the image of the party at all times. A politician is never a private person.

Im in the commission as a citizen giving his opinion not as a party representive.

Make that pubic in the media so nobody will confuse my purpose if you want. I have become popular with the people with not bending to outside pressure.

I don't want you to bend to anything... I want you to RESPECT what the party thinks... And you SHOULD vote against the DP if that happen in the future I don't see was a good sign to memebers of this party voting separated ways in a so important commition

I have voted yes on the attorney general bill; sorry for not consulting but I think it's a fairly obvious bill, and it isn't going to be bad, even if it isn't good.

If I wanted to BEND you... I would ask for a Excutive order from the party leadership to order you to vote...

I think you can defend the DP, but IF the party belive inside the commition YOU should vote AGAINST the DP you SHOULD...


And I don't know what would happen IF that happen, I say to you... It's better not to know

If you don't want to quit the DP commition because that would make you look bad simply don't say manythings inside it... And if you don't want to vote against the party will and against your personal belive, abstain I think this is the most diplomatic way to get out of this mess

Roger, the point is not that anyone wants to force you to vote or think any particular way. What does worry me though, is that your biggest reason for the DP seems to be "the prisons are full." Keeping the social and philosophical background of our party in mind, this is a very utilitarian and superficial comment.

If you can expound on WHY you believe the DP is a good thing, and in WHICH cases, I think there can be no problem with you having a slightly different opinion.
