I think we should condemn the assassination of Mr Fox.

A lip reader told police that the assassins said "get the traitor". Fox was part of RD and this could be linked to our party, maybe somebody in this party took it upon themselves to kill Fox?

This also could be the work of the revolutionaries trying to frame our democratic party or even another party against RD could have assassinated Fox.

I also ask that we set of some guards around our homes and HQ at least. These revolutionaries declared war on the government and we are a target.

Remember, the United States fought a war for democracy.

I partially agree, Mr. Smith.

Philipp, I suggest you write up a public expression of our grief over this horrendous act. Coming from my mouth, it would be a bit hypocritical due to my history with Mr. Fox. Still, I dont wish murder or pain on even my worst enemies.

Concerning the situation in Farpoint and the WET:

I've pointed out to the president that it will be very difficult to initiate negotiations, because we dont know who is seen as a leader over there. It looks like one big chaos, and I think sending in the army would make tensions flare up, but at least establish the order necessary for decent negotiations.

This isnt a time to just close our eyes and pray the nasty men will go away if we just smile nicely at them, so a combination of military and diplomatic efforts is the only way to solve this.

If the ESRP decides to take the pacifist route, which I fear, that would be a sad thing indeed.

Army should be our last option...when all other options are taken out. It strikes me in the heart when I have to say that army should go there as there is no alternative.:(

Yes, but Austral;ia and New Zealand didn't and they're both higher then the USA on the democracy list :rolleyes:

No militia, its unnecessary

About Mr. Fox: Although he was a traitor and scum of the earth, (OOC:This is all IC, btw) he didn't deserve to be shot. I say we send a boquet to his family and say some words honouring his time in the party.

In representation of RD I give the conduilences to the family of Mr. Fox, 2 times speacker of our nation's Parliament and for many months member of the RD... We did a good job was a member of the RD but we still don't love his "Political Person" for his acts... Still he was a human beeing and the human live is sacrated... His work was politician and and Corporation leader must be remembered by all of EUtopian...

About the acusations on the RD... A innocent person don't need to claim he is!

Thanks

Fox-assassination: see Townhall. :)

As to Farpoint: so far, the protests are non-violent. From what I understand, any illegal actions to this date were taken not by Topa militants but by the city's government and police. I suggest a six-fold approach:

(1) negotiate with the Topa protesters (once we've found a spokesperson) and traditional Topa leaders;
(2) step up attempts to investigate the USA's Lt. Hanson by requesting that he be brought to trial in a US military court, with a Eutopian presence on the prosecution;
(3) appoint a parliamentary commission to conduct an extensive study of the socio-economic and legal situation of Native Eutopians, as well as their grievances;
(4) restore power to the US-base immediately - send in riot police if necessary to protect the powerlines;
(5) relieve the city government of Farpoint of its duties by an act of Parliament and appoint an acting mayor (at the discretion of the MHA); and
(6) suspend Farpoint police from active duty and suspend all their benefits, pending an internal review.

I believe I should be the representive. My first special report in the Gazette was about the Farpoint situation so I know A LOT about the situation and since I proposed sending representives first I think I should have the job.

Just to clarify, by "spokesperson" I mean a spokesperson for the Topa protesters; right now, it's not clear who speaks for them, so we need to find out. :)

Time to start negotiating for a coalition, friends.

Is everyone comfortable with me doing negotiations with the odd bit of Philipp thrown in? :) If not, speak up.

I think going with the CPR is the best thing we can do. I dont think it is wise to stirr up a lot of air about what we didnt do, because the things we did do were notable. Also, we set some nice things on the agenda. What do you think?

Also time to finalise our parliamentary list:

Parliamentary candidates

1. Silent Eagle
2. I_Killed-Kenny
3. hughbartlett
4. Murmurandus*
5. matija
6. The Rebel

Is this correct?

In the event that my services are desired in the form of presidential candidacy, I think it is only fair that I point out now that I refuse to run against Mr. O'Floinn, or any other MP candidate. Splitting votes between us and them would just diminish the rational center of Eutopian politics, and I will be no part to that.
