Eutopian Socialist Alliance HQ

EUTOPIAN SOCIALIST ALLIANCE

Unity Through Freedom

dove.jpg

Party Platform

Unification:
Eutopia should be Unified by Diplomatic means. We should show the Latin Provinces that we are no longer a Brutal Dictatorship, and there is no reason for them to stay seperate.

Foreign Affairs:
Eutopia should take a more Active Involovement in the world. We should seek membership into NATO and become more Active in the UN

Monarchy:
The Monarchy is a fuigerhead of Oppression and Social Injustice. The only way for a fully Democratic Eutopia is to have no Monarchy.

Millitary:
The military must serve the purpose of peace, defence, and the safety of the people. The ESA completely supports the nationalization of militarisitic industries as well as the reorganization and reformation of the military. We desire for Eutopian troops to be active in peacekeeping operations around the world when it is fully prepared to do so. The military must be under the authority of civilians meaning that you must not be part of the military in order to run for president. We believe that the military should be completely volunteer based and professional, with exceptions in the situation of "severe war". "Severe war", meaning a world war, war against invaders, or during a war in which our forces suffers more then 5,000 casualties. Conscription can only be ordered in a legally declared war.

Health Care:
We Belive that the only way to have equal and high quality Health Care is to Nationalize the Health Industry. This will ensure adequate Health Care for all people in Eutopia.

Gay Rights:
We belive that Gay couples should be able to adopt and have the right to a Civil Union.

Abortion:
The ESA supports the rights of women to abort infants until the third month. If one is not able to take care of a child then one should be required to give up child for adoption, one must not be given any payment for giving up child for adoption.

Economy:
Publicization of the Industry is the only way forward to ensure the (more) equal Distribution of wealth. This will also safeguard the Environment and ensure that only the Highest Quality Products will get to the Consumer.

Education:
We belive that every Child should be able to go through Primary, Secondary and Universaty, in able to get a start in life. It is imperitive that we have University Educated Children as much as possible.

Economy:
Eutopia must nationalize all essential services needed by the average human being. There should be strict, and firmly enforced regulations on corporations and other businesses. The ESA strongly supports the reform of income taxes based on the income of Eutopians. Also, all luxury goods are to be taxed if the buyer of the given luxury good has an income over 70,000 ducats. There should be a universal retirement age of 60 years if you have a savings of under 40,000 ducats.

Now that were open for business, I believe we need to begin working out our platform. We also need to discuss in private our relations with the other parties.

Before all that however, I suggest a party election to determine our chairman and vice-chairman.

I suppose we can agree that self voting is not allowed and that one person cannot be the chairman and vice-chairman at the same time.

Party Chairman-Alexi Locke Sergei[Josephus I]
Vice-Chairman-Mr. Gonzov[Whats your characters first name?][The Gonzo]

It's "Josephus" Locke Sergei...not Alexis...:))))

I second Mr. Johnston's call to come up with a clear campaign strategy. To wit, are we gonna bother with a presidential candidate?

I like the idea of a graduated income tax system based on one's income. While the other parties campaign about VAT (not a bad idea, btw, as long as there are some exceptions); maybe we can use this as our chief idea.

How about a luxury tax? A tax on all large cars, boats, large houses...that sort of thing?

In any case, we should get this moving. Deadline for CRO for the election is pretty soon.

My votes for chair: Mr. Johnston
Vice Chair : Gonzos.

One other thing. If we don't run a presidential candidate, then we should decide whom to support.

Amric: I have had nothing but good dealings with him (apart from the back and forth banter in our election campaign). Despite what he has called me, and what I have called him; we have reasonably good relations. He was a good choice of presidential candidate by his party because they know he has good support across the board. He's the most left-leaning in his party.

Of course the only problem with him is his choice of Cabinet. Voting for him means seeing the likes of Langley, Talbott, Vilms, Tilly in government. Not a good thing.

Kenny: OK. He's got little experience and tends to get over-excited. On the other hand, he's the most pliable. That is to say, if we support him we can actually demand a minsitry position or two, because he's now no longer in a position to refuse.

Plus, I really feel bad about the way we back-stabbed him. He made a couple small mistakes that were seized upon by UP and the press.

[OOC: Green_Alien, you have to a be member or have permission to speak in ones HQ I believe.]

I believe we should support Amric, I have established good relations with him as well because of my interview. I think he would support us in geting assembly seats.

If it was possible to a few socialist ministers with Mr. Kenny then I would support him but they I believe, will lose the election for president and even if they won, I dont think they would care much about us. We did leave the party at a bad time.

I have complete platform which I will pass out[post] soon.

Just so you know, Amric, or anyone else, can't support us in getting assembly seats. That is strictly determined by the number of votes we get.

Eutopian Socialist Alliance Platform

Foreign Affairs

The ESA believes that Eutopia must be active in the United Nations or any other world organization that promotes peace and prosperity. We believe that nations that support terrorism, commit human rights abuses, and other crimes against humanity should be eliminated through diplomatic or militaristic means[force being a last resort]. The ESA supports trade with the rest of the world, although we refuse to allow the people to be exploited by it.

Military

Education

Education is extremely important to the progress of Eutopia, so the ESA supports free education including college. We support the teaching of evolution and the elimination of ANY private schools, that includes all secondary schools that maintains a seperate cirruculum from the other schools. All Eutopians must attend school from ages 6-18 and must take exams for secondary education.

Equal Rights

The ESA strongly supports the equal rights of all able bodied human beings which includes, homosexuals, ethnic groups, women, etc. We support the elimination of hate organizations where ever they exist as well as racially or sexually motivated affirmimative action.

Economy

Eutopia must nationalize all essential services needed by the average human being. There should be strict, and firmly enforced regulations on corporations and other businesses. The ESA strongly supports the reform of income taxes based on the income of Eutopians. Sport leagues and media outlets should recieve funding from the government and donations from viewers or fans. Also, all luxury goods are to be taxed if the buyer of the given luxury good has an income over 70,000 ducats. There should be a universal retirement age of 60 years if you have a savings of under 40,000 ducats.

Law, Order, and Justice

We support the banning of the death penalty under all circumstances unless in the situation of a lost cause. All convicts must perform labor to support themselves and to provide free services to the people of Eutopia. The ultimate goal of the system is to rehabilitate convicts so they can live productive lives in society. We oppose the sell, growth, or useing of all drugs unless they are ordered by a doctor or legalized by the government, in which case it must be sold and grown by the government.

Immigration and Citizenship

All immigrants must live inside specified areas although they are allowed to leave and travel anywhere in Eutopia if they recieve permission from the government. This is to better organize immigrants. Citizenship must be obtained by living in the country for five years and by passing exams centering around Eutopia itself. All people living inside Eutopia should be allowed and encouraged to work but must inform the government of their job and where they will be going. Immigrants should not pay taxes in the first two years if living in Eutopia, however after that term is up, they should pay special taxes lower then the average Eutopian until they are full citizens. If the immigrant is able to pay full taxes and other expenses then they must do so.

Abortion and Children

The ESA supports the rights of women to abort infants until the third month. If one is not able to take care of a child then one should be required to give up child for adoption, one must not be given any payment for giving up child for adoption.

Health Care

We support full and complete health care for all legal citizens of Eutopia for life unless they are convicts. Health care should take care of all medical costs, costs that are attributed to avoidable ellments should be paid only once.

Welfare

We believe it is the right of every able citizen to work and make a fair wage. However the hostility inherant in the market-driven economy makes full employment impossible. As such there will always be those among us unable to find work. It is the role of government to provide a base income for these people in order to remain productive citizens of Eutopia

This is all open to changes.

Mr. Gonzov...are you happy with Per Johnston's platform. Did you want to use that instead of your original one? Also, since you're the only one who can "edit" the first post, can you make membership of all of us official.

After that we need to make the spokesperson and deputy spokesperson official so we can comply with the CRO rules in time for election.

>>When applying for certification, parties must also provide a link to the first post in their party headquarter, which must contain the following information:
- a comprehensive party platform
- the names of the party officers (party leader and deputy leader)
- a CURRENT AND UP-TO-DATE (!) list of party members

Finally, parties must include a copy of each candidate’s acceptance of their nomination with the certification application (indicate the location and date of the acceptance).

Well yes. That's the basic failure with the welfare system. However, no one should be denied welfare. Therefore we would never use the term "lazy bum" publicly. They are employment-deprived.

People will fall through the cracks. Capitalism thrives on losers. As long as capitalism exists, a system needs to be in place to protect those who fall through the cracks.

A small percentage will be the lazy bums you describe. Such is life. I'm not willing to cut support to those who deserve it in order to punish the lazy bums.

Comrades.

Well so far it's been Johnston and myself. :)

We need to get our campaign going. Also, Johnston and myself have been discussing, over lunch, tea and a dose of Marx, whether we should support any particular party in this election.

I've told you what I think of both Kenny and Amric. There's nothing wrong with Amric, but behind him stands a solid group of conservatives and reactionaries.

Kenny has a strong platform and a strong backer in the form of former president Murmurandus.

If we publicly back UP, we will get nothing in return. Amric said that only people with the right experience should be in the Cabinet. I am the only person here with the experience he's talking about, and hell will freeze over before his friends will allow him to give me a position.

He's willing to entertain deputy positons--which I admit can give some of us valuable experience.

If we publicly back P4P, we can demand one or two ministries in return and might give back Kenny some of the confidence and prestige we raped from him.

My question to you is ---is an alliance necessary? Do we need to gain power this election. The ESRP started off very slowly but over time gained momentum and did become one of the largest parties in the Assembly. We did this without sacrificing our values. I'm indifferent to power in and of itself. We are here to protect the people of Eutopia from the dangers of the market forces.

So, I'll turn over talk of alliances to the rest of you. I'll follow whatever you say.

Hello everyone , I'm pleased to work with people that have ideals similar to my own.
