I like your platform, Mr. Strasse. Many of the planks on there I was going to suggest myself today.
Quick Summary/Synthesis on the Platform:
Crime, Terrorism, and Law and Order:
Previous administrations have been far too lenient on these grounds. Most crime falls under the provincial sphere, but there are still things that can be done: increase funding for police, ramp up our anti-terror units and domestic intelligence (so we are not caught off guard as we were this term), crack down on youth hooliganism, gangs, and such by banning Topa Root and interdicting the flow of already illegal drugs. Officially reinstating the death penalty (with safeguards to prevent what happened when I was President).
The Economy:
Our object is to promote growth and to declare war on unemployment. To this end, we must improve our internal infrastructure, provide programs to retrain those unemployed affected by the collapse of their industry, reduce the power of corrupt union bosses, and ensure that all who want a university education in this country may receive one. Balancing the budget and lowering taxes would be good too, but that's a matter for later.
Morality:
Bring back values to government--freer, more open government. Equality of opportunity (see above) and a care for the common man. And the abortion issue.
Unity:
Encourage and foster a Eutopian (but not an Anglo) spirit, not dividing our country among purely racial and ethnic lines (the sorts of things that brought the downfall of the Second Republic and the youth violence endemic in today's society). Encourage a reunification of the island (primarily with St. Espirit) through CAFTA. Hopefully, eventually, our wayward brothers in Tilapia may be brought back into the fold (perhaps through the monarchy).
