Mr. Jools I must strongly protest your desicion to end talks for the CPR. I understand negoatiations have reached a impasse. I personally believe the CPR will not form because of stubborness from the RD, but your making us look bad by pulling out early. Who knows, there may be a break through in negotiations. What can be gained by pulling out now? There is already a deadline in place, one that is just a little more than 24 hours away. To pull out now makes us look uncooperative and only makes a MP-ESRP-RD alliance more likely. From a political stand point, you may have just forced the CC to commit suicide for the coming term. I urge you to reconsider. If you do not, I have no choice but to call a vote of the entire party.

jools may be the president of the CC but it is of vital interest to prevent the isolation of the CC and the formation of a left-alliance.
at this stage we cant yet pull out and we MUST continue negotiations, in order to
A. prevent a total monarch victory, as they are a wild card(just cant tell what they would do)
B. prevent a left alliance, this is the most dangerous as it could potential have enough parliament members to force a leftest agenda through parliament

First of all I don't like how there was no consultation with ANY of the party members about starting talks with the CPR. Sure you began negotiating but without party approval. I withdrew from the talks because there is no inner party consensus. If you want to re-start talks then we must first reach a compromise with each other.

I have been in contact with the members of this party in private. The walls here are sometimes a little thin. I was not officially selected to negotiate, but someone needed to do it. No one acted, so I acted. Given that I have working relationship with Teano, Josephus, and Fitzpatrick, wouldn't I be the logical choice anyway?

The feedback I have recieved both here and via private correspondence has made it clear our membership supports forming some sort of coalition. What coalition they will find acceptable remains to be seen.

I have tried to start discussions here, but it usually met with silence or a few brief comments by a limited amount of members. I have tried to talk with you in private, but you have not been willing to engage in a thoughtful discussion. You want a vote of the party? Here is a vote.

Is the CC willing to be a part of the CPR?

Would the CC be willing to form some sort of coalition with the MP?

With the CRE?

With the RD?

With the ESRP?

With any combination of the above mentioned groups?

Or do you want to be polically isolated and marginalize the voice of our supporters (i.e. voters)?

I vote yes on all but the last.

Lastly I have a question for you, Mr. Jools. If the CC votes to form a coalition that you oppose, will you remain a member of this party? Or will you betray our voters like Charles Morgan and defect?

Leaving the party is not "betrayal". Leaving the party right after you've gotten an MP seat thanks to it IS.

Please don't use such harsh words. If anyone is betraying the party it's the one that acts behind the elected leadership.....

Furthermore, I would like you to point out what sort of coalition you are talking about. Presidential? Parliamentary? Electoral? I need to know.

Presidential- I see the MP and CRE as an option
Parliamentary- MP, though I guess we would have to wait until after elections to see
Electoral- Well, I think we should start out on our own for the parliament.

Lastly, why all the haste? Scared someone will grab you governmental seat from under your a**?

What govermental seat? I am willing to withdraw from the presidential race. I am third on our parliamentary list, certianly not a sure thing given how close this election is going to be.

And when it comes to ministers spots in the CPR, I have been pushing for Col. Hartwell or Jacob Lungren for the MDIA or MHSA respectively. Also I have pushed for Mr. Lundgren to continue in his role as speaker. I may land an advisory role, or even a ministry depending on the president's choice, but that is not a sure thing. I'm trying to do what is best for the party, not just for me.

I am thinking presidential with the possiblity of a loose parliamentary one as well. What do you mean by electoral?

****(as in a 2 member coalition with those parties i would refuse but if neccessary to form a solid coalition would tolerate it if they did not have overwelaming power and could not push their agenda over the alliances)

i dont see a coaltion with the cre as needed, as if others break down, the CC might hook up with the MP and at the very least if it were a five way fight the CC wouldnt do too bad anyways.

Well under the proposal sitting on the CPR table right now, we would be assured one ministry, though we don't know which one. The Speaker will be choosen after the elections. And assuming we do well there, we should have a good chance at staying in that chair. Is that acceptable?

Realistically I think it is the only workable solution.

Lundgren: I agree with your conditions to working with the left and see the CPR as fitting in with your idea. The ESRP is actually a pretty pragmatic group for the most part, and the RD has agreed to a center platform. With such a broad based government, we can get a lot done.

i support a coalition with the ESRP, MP and RD. as i have said before. And Jake Langley you are doing a wondeful job in representing the party.

OOC craig that idea of the joint chiefs of staff is already under discussion between military personel. We may go to the gm about it soon. I would probably be CINCAF Commander IN Chief Air Force.

When you say that you want the President decalred Commander in Chief of the military what exactly are the legal ramifications of that. ie what powers would the president have and what controls would be placed upon him to make certain he doesn't run rampant.

Keep in mind, my ideas are not officially endorsed by the CC. At this point they are only my ideas.

To all: The CPR is official now. All of our candiates for the presidency have withdrawn except for O'Floinn. While the presidency and majority in parliament seem to be secure, we need to be out and campaigning for the CC's vision of the future.

I have reached an agreement with Josephus of the ESRP. There is to be no more negative campaigning against the ESRP. First off and most importantly, it is a waste of time. A prospective CC voter would not consider the ESRP and the reverse is also true. Secondly, the ESRP is not our biggest concern.

I know DR. Vlamnick said some unflattering things about us, and Mr. Lundgren fired back. That is fine, neither Josephus or I had announced the agreement. Please let it drop. If they violate the agreement, then I would say it is open season, but I don't want the CC to be known as a party that can't keep its word.

I suggest we focus on our achievements first and foremost. I respect the MP and there is only a slight difference between us. They are our most valuable allies and I do not want a negative campaign to spoil those relations. I have offered the MP a similar campaign cease fire. I have not recieved an answer yet.

If we have to do comparisons, let's keep it to the CRE and the RD. Even with the RD, we should remain competitive but respectful. I'm not saying don't call them on their mistakes, just try to keep it at least semi-civil.

i just wanted to let the esrp know while we will work with you, we still hate you

also i didnt want them to have the last shot and sneak mine in. that and my paper is my paper not the CC's.

but np that is the last thing to be said bad towards the esrp by me unles they break the "cease-fire"

Fine. I understand the paper is yours, but you created it with the intention that it would be the CC's official paper. I blame Josephus and myself. We discussed this early this morning, but didn't make an announcement until just now.

I know some of you have reservations about the ESRP. I share some of them, but I do believe that Josephus is good man and a pragmatic leader. He is someone we can work with, even if we do not always agree.
