Prison Architect is "failing to launch" on Windows 10

For some reason, when I go on Steam and attempt to play Prison Architect, it says "failed to launch" when I go into the Paradox launcher for it. I just got the game and was hoping to play it but for some reason it just wasn't working. As a matter of fact, Hearts of Iron isn't launching either and it says the same thing. I'm not sure why but it just isn't working.

What launcher version do you see?

DXDIAG is a program you run from a command prompt or the Windows start menu 'run' dialog box (or 'search programs' in Windows 7 or later). After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please send in the game log C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Local\Introversion\Prison Architect\debug.txt

To see the AppData folder you'll need to enable View Hidden Items in File Explorer.

I have the same problem. I can't enable game in Steam in "normal" mode, it's possible only in 32bit version.
After opening luncher in "normal" mode and select play, game says "Launching the game failed".

No obvious problems in those file.

Is that debug log taken just after a failure to launcher? Or after a successful run in 32bit mode? If the latter it's of no use, sorry! Please generate the problem and attach a new log then, thanks.

There's so many different problems with the launcher, since the beginning of its existence that it's really hard to tell what is causing the issue. You could try and mess around with reinstalling the launcher (the same way as any other program, via Windows Control Panel), but first, removing its cache. It might be a good idea to reinstall the launcher to the new location. I remember reproducing the error you have by installing it in some specific folders that I don't remember exactly what they were right now. Also do not install the game and the launcher on two different drives. It creates issues as well.

When I download it from microsoft store it says Prison Architect is currently not available in your account. Make sure you are signed in to the Microsoft Store and try again. Here's the error code, in case you need it: 0x803F8001

Please don't re-open old threads, especially about a completely unrelated problem with a different edition of the game.

IMO you should check with MS support as a starting point.
