I've googled and googled, but I can't find anything explaining what this "Priority" tickbox in the new road management tool actually does. What exactly am I doing to my roads when I set them as "Priority?"
Previously traffic lights have given the green light based on demand (sensoring), and it has timed out after 12 seconds or so if the demand is equal. What you've observed might make sense, but the problem is that traffic lights are severely underdocumented. Thanks for the replies, fellas. I see what it does with the stop signs now.
BUT, it also seems to adjust the timing on the traffic lights. Without priority, traffic lights split their time about 7 seconds on each roadway evenly (on slowest game speed). When a road has priority, the traffic lights seem to give the priority road about 12-13 seconds and only about 2 seconds to the road connecting it.
