Primitives turning FTL broken

So I've noticed that when a primitive civilization goes FTL on their own, they build a starport with just anchorages. They don't build a shipyard and thus never expand. I play on giant Galaxies with few starting species and 5x tech costs so this became very noticeable.

Side note: Losing the primitive buildings when you invade is sad. I know they suck, but I liked having them as trophies previously.

I remember Wiz mentioning that at some point they will look into how primitives work and flesh them out a bit.
Let's hope that's still the gameplan with the new lead.
