Currently the primary tag for Egyptian culture is Mamluks. Shouldn't it be Egypt actually? Mamluks were multicultural after all, you can even restore Mamluks as a Muslim country when they cease to exist.
I think that this change should be included for the new upcoming DLC. What's do you think about it?

Maybe its because Egypt is adm 20 and the devs didn't want the player pulling some shenanigans to spawn them early and gaining a vassal with cores over the whole of Egyptian region.

I hope the Egypt formable gets a look at in this new DLC to justify its ridiculously high adm requirements its a MISRable tag right now.

Hopefully they'll change it. Especially considering that Mamluks transform into Egypt after getting crushed by the Ottomans and turning into Eyalet.

I guess the logic behind that was Mamluk succession squabbles were a real mess that put all country into chaos - and its kinda hard to sort out.

Its from an era where a religion giving a passive bonus like +1 legitimacy was considered content. There where almost no formables back then and it was considered a legit reward with good national ideas.

Egypt doesn't have any unique NI - it keeps Mamluk ones upon formation. It's even marked with having generic ones IIRC.

New upcoming NI for Egypt:
EGY_ideas = { start = { trade_efficiency = 0.1 administrative_efficiency = 0.05 } bonus = { free_policy = 1 } trigger = { tag = EGY } free = yes #will be added at load. egy_centralization_works = { development_cost = -0.1 } training_missions_in_egypt = { country_military_power = 1 } legacy_of_the_karimis = { burghers_loyalty_modifier = 0.1 burghers_privilege_slots = 1 } nile_production = { production_efficiency = 0.10 } westernize_the_military = { max_general_fire = 1 #YES! fire_damage = 0.1 } mediterranean_shipwrights = { sea_repair = yes } crossroads_between_europe_and_africa = { global_trade_power = 0.1 } }

What do you mean?

administration of the mamluk domain event.png

The first option will enable a new powerful local organization for the Mamluks, and if you are not an Empire, you will become one. But, I believe that the second option is far, far more interesting; the ability to reform into Egypt and pursue a new government mechanic; Egyptian Westernization!

My guess he means the other option in that decision from the dev Diary.
