I agree whole heartedly with this comment.
This (histroy simulation) is still a niche and developing market, unlike the more mature/developed genre, such as First person shooter, moba, etc.
We, longtime paradox fans, have both witnessed and actively participated in the growth of the studio/company/market/player base, and are quite sad to see all this loyalty, respect and potential growth squander by this sudden and rushed decision to hike the prices across the boards in less fortunate countries, countries where systemic corruption is rampant and economy has been stagnant for years.
By actively participating I mean purchasing half completed and sometimes bug-ridden games/dlcs on release or at all, helping the devs improve the games and also promoting the games to friends and others.
Hell, HOI4 still feels unfinished and rushed after 1 year of release. despite this, many bought PDX games and dlcs on release or sales just to support the studio.
On the other hand, the devs 've also been very kind to the community, listening to complaints and suggestions, then implemented them or fixed bugs for the games, and also answered the community.
Now fast forward to the present, when many of the longtime fans have already been upset with the constant strains of half finished, serevely over priced dlcs/base games, PDX raised prices in poor countries without warning or any valid reason, in total disregard for the finacial conditions their fans are in. I can see why many regard this as the final straw.
I'm from China which is also heavily influenced by this change. Due to language barrier, you dont see many Chinese arguing against this unannounced, ridiculous price increase in the forum. Personally, I applauded fellow Russian players work in rationally arguing against it. Thanks.
