You are so knowledgeable about the shadow business in our country (sarcasm).

Listen, look at how much the prices in Europe and the USA have increased for all time (the site "steamprices") and how much in Russia, Brazil, India, China, South Korea, Turkey, etc. In all this countries, such high corruption?
EU has been overpaying since Euro was introduced on Steam. GDP for EU has been stagnating for the last 10 years. South Korea has corruption of lower end of EU. Russia, Turkey, Brazil, China and India are much worse in that regard. GDP of Russia, Brazil and Turkey are taking a dip (maybe has to do something with corruption scandals and warmongering), while they were raising when EU was stagnating. Paradox was making half the money on Russian sales compared to 2013. The only country that is paying more in USD/EUR than they were before is South Korea, since KRW dipped just slightly compared to USD and raised compared to EUR.

In short, Paradox is just trying to keep their income in USD/EUR the same. They should have told this from the start, and I think their PR failed in that regard.

On the other hand, butthurt Russians now need to start thinking why exactly did their economy crash and what THEY could do about it.
Thank you for your concern, we will somehow deal with our economy.
However some factors (falling oil prices, the war in the neighboring country, sanctions) not in our power, but at least the corruption is becoming less (according to international rankings).
Perhaps people have no money for bribes.;)

It is foolish to think that if you raise the price in 2 times, then your income will increase in 2 times.

Review in steam asks me I recommend the game or not.
The old price was OK, I recommended the game.
The new price is not OK, I don't recommend the game.
Very simple logic.
Publisher have the right to raise the price.
I have the right to write my recomendation to other users.

Good luck on the summer sale with this price and such recent reviews.
I hope pdx marketers take into account such consequences of this decision, or they are simply incompetent.
You have already bought it, so how new prices will affect you drectly? Because you don't need to pay a difference and the game is still the same.
By your logic now you need to write a negative review on all games that have raised their prices.

As I said above, in Europe prices are rising normally, but in Russia no. I wrote the facts, not philosophy.
We don't have such economy problems like in your country and our currency is quite stable, unlike your ruble.

As the developer said. They did not raise prices for many years and since then much has changed so prices have become higher.

Thank you for your concern, we will somehow deal with our economy.
For 20 years, everything has only become worse. The successful development of the country is in the hands of the people, including yours.

Amader, MegaVat, your argumentation on proverbial level of "Let them eat cake".

May be your have some genius level advices for people of Afghanistan or Zembabwe how to develop their countries as well? Or they already too rich nowdays and Paradox need to rise prices for them like 200-300%?

This is very naive.

That's the whole point - they're doing it wrong! I repeat it again and again - people with either stop buying it altogether, will by it on sales only or acquire games in another way (because they can do so in those countries). It's normal that your revenue decrease in a country with bad economical situation. Most of the PDX games sold in RU region, don't even have Russian language in them, so PDX spend 0 (zero) additional $ to sell them here. Basically they were selling the same English version but cheaper. Before Steam introduced region locks and hammered down on gifting, it was a problem for PDX, but they were OK with it. Now, versions are limited to the region where they were bought, and economical situation is worse. Raising prices in this condition will result in nothing.

Good for you.
Now let's apply your own argument to yourself: if the price change doesn't affect you, why are you arguing here at all? You see, that's completely pointless. People feel the new prices are unfair. What exactly are you trying to achieve? Convince people that they are wrong and can't do maths?
Well, good luck with that.

I didn't get this argument.
Interface steam ask me a clear question: recommend or not recommend.
Why do you think it's odd that I recommend game for 799р, but I do not recommend this game for 1199р?
Yea, and it was far much worse 100 ago. And?
And in the last hundred years, the situation does not become worse.
