Well, anyways I love this new army thingy. This will really help losing some of that micromanaging. Thx Paradox!

I was playing some EU3 this morning before going into the office. As Brittany as their flag is so cool-looking. I greedily snatched up a few regiments of mercenary knights and fielded a mightily strong army of 8000 proud men. As I sucked up to France, I could focus on fighting Provence alone, and grab Anjou from them I hoped.

With an enormous amount of 2500 manpower yearly as Brittany, I can't exactly reinforce my army quickly, so I needed to win the battles quick. I quickly declared war, converted my king to a general, netting me a nice 3-shock 1-fire 2-manuever leader, which enabled me to utterly crush the Provence 2000 men strong northern army. (Since default leaders are 0/0/0, this is a nice leader to have.) I am happily sieging their fortress, and their remnants have retreated and are sieging one of my provinces.

No worries I think, I got a major army, I can assault.
So I do.. and this is where I completely forget..
Cavalry sucks in assaults, and takes alot of damage.. my brave 1000 infantry can't really keep up, and I take about 6500 in losses before the defenders fall.
Now I have 1500 men left in 8 weak regiments.. the Provence army is stronger, and have about 1800 in their 2..

I can gamble on attacking them now, or sit and hope to get enough reinforcements before my poor city falls to them..

Sitting with my army, waiting for my battered regiments to reinforce, and seeing the "Water Shortage" messages appear over my city is kind of scary.
I was up to 3700 men after a few months, when i saw "breach", and desperately sent my army into Morbihan to stop the enemy siegers...

I reached them in the middle of the assault, when I had 140 defenders left of the original 1000 garrison, and the amount of pixels left on morale bar was too thin for my heart to feel safe.

I won the day... :) and then a quick look at the watch told me "time to run, late for office".. :)
