If you can handle more information and if you are curious about the dlc,
Destructoid has posted a preview today!

Crusader Kings II: Sunset Invasion impressions at Destructoid
“The Sunset Invasion is a random event that happens late in the game. Aztec explorers arrive on the shores of Western Europe; their apparent goal is innocuous -- they just want to shift lots of beads. Much like hippy street vendors trying to offload crappy bead necklaces, these Aztecs are not to be trusted. Not long after they arrive, an invasion fleet appears, and all hell breaks lose.”

Sounds like a dynamic province naming system based on owner culture. Which if it can be applied to the vanilla game would be great.

That's what I was thinking, but it would suggest every province in the game has been given an alternative Aztec name, which is... well, strange.

And then they'd have to be able to change back.

Hmm.

Sounds like my Dynamic Naming suggestion, where you can localize in a cultural/religious context (So c_york_aztek;Ajuchitlan;;;;; would change it to Ajuchitlan if the Count is Aztek-culture etc). Good, can finally get my Skraeling natives to easily shift to Norse place-names, then. :)

Edit: Oh, they said "Rename" as though it's done in-game. Rats. Please also include the automatic version.. Don't want people having to sit and type everything out.

Well you already can rename provinces in game by hand. So this will have to be automatic.

... You know I would really like it if that culture-naming thing was done via the province-culture and not the ruler-culture. Makes a lot more sense.

How so? As the King (or Queen) of your nation, the map that's on the board is YOUR map. So if you decided to rename a province, that's your prerogative, but it's not like the citizens are calling, say, Marrakesh as Marrakex (that is to say if the Kingdom of Navarra took over that province).

I wouldn't say that. I would say the map is the de facto situation of the world.

Since it's already possible to rename counties I suspect it'll be automatic.

What I am talking about is not possible by hand, since you can't type in new ones for higher titles, but let's hope it's automatic and tied to Localization-culture/religion.
