Lol my bad I wonder why I noticed it on normal dens and not on portals and seats. It's weird that seats work on some maps and not on other. I wonder if there isn't another spawn system from those.

I'll check maps like Life and Death or Trouble with Afterlife to destroy all seats and try quote the difference. But for Trouble with Afterlife I don't remember have more Elementals after to have destroyed the seats.

EDIT: So I check Trouble with Afterlife (ie Ancient Lich) don't see any more Elementals after to have destroyed the seats. I wonder why you quote it "Nor in The Ancient Lich". For Desert Defense it's hot and time limited so it will be more difficult to check. That said I agree that it seems there are some elementals coming from frontiers in some maps that doesn't mean seats don't work necessarily, a map could have both. Gold of Chyort has that Frontiers elementals if I remember well.

Pretty sure all lairs are manually set. Guess they forgot those on some maps. They aren't like some Werewolf Dens in "Demon's Advisor" that just activate really really late.
For example Portals just spawn demons and imps on all maps BUT Desert Defense.

Just played Trouble with the Afterlife as well, and definitely no action from said seats. And I already see no more Elementals after killing the ones at the site, because no new ones are spawned... ever, anywhere. This is with the seats intact.
Although it's funny to note this map defies normal lair-spawn logic, in that it can randomly spawn 1 lich instead of the "intended spawn"...

Elementals wont be spawned on the Ancient liche map. I went past 150 days on this one. Nothing.

Likely, there was to be a side quest like for the skeleton king in that top corner. The high concentration of undead is in itself a justification to parties as they dont get scared. I can imagine that this high concentration of undead plus elementals were supposed to give a harder time to players.

There is only a high contentration there because they "hunt", and in doing so wander around aimlessly. They are unlikely to find the only one small exit path.

However, once heroes get send in, they follow them out of the gorge towards the city, where they get slaughtered. A few such runs by heroes and it's all clear and the lairs get easily destroyed. No parties needed at all...

Yes my check wasn't good at all! If dens are set manually for each maps then it's not a basic setting as they change quite a lot as the time progress.

For Lich spawn by Seat I don't remember any wandering Lich in this map but well it's not simple to quote.

For the Desert Map the spawning isn't fully clear. I agree the portal spawning isn't obvious but still get the feeling that destroy those south had an effect. I finished this map without to have explore a large part of it so it's difficult to have a good point of view on spawning.

Like I said, there are no wandering lich, only those spawned from the occassional lair and/or summoned portal.

As for the Desert map, the Elemental Seat (Actually called "Seat of the Fire Elemental" unlike the "Seat of the Elemental" all others are called is to the north-west of your base, not the south.
However, each Portal to Hell on this map updates to Elementals eventually, which is quite a surprise if one expects only imps and demons from them...

Lol, that is deaf talking. :D

like I said I never saw any wandering Lich in Trouble with Afterlife, ie I only saw them spawn from summoned portal that are always close to town. A Lich coming from far spawned by a seat would be wandering. But well if you saw a seat spawn a Lich, ok why not.

For Desert Map I wrote portal, not seats. It's about demons and imps coming from south.
