I'm playing a kind of (cheated) Ayleid run (started with Laloriaran Dynar, "rescued from Oblivion"). I captured Imperial Isle, and making my way to conquer Cyrodiil, and make all this humans in Elder Council admit me as Emperor (Malaran) on Ruby Throne, giving me titular Dynari Empire.
Everything is good but one - sometimes (when I'm creating new titles, for example) they "override" said empire as my main title, being kingdoms. As they're kingdoms, not Empires, I have my vassal limit and demense limit cut; and I can't set Dynari Empire as main title because "title should be of same tier".

What is happening, and why? And am I supposed to deal with it?

It's an issue that CK2 has sometimes. Exiting and reloading your game should give you the appropriate primary title

That's the thing - it's work other way (meaning reloading a game sometimes just remove my empire as a main title). Still, do you mean that reloading spam should help?
