Hi,
I just wanted to share a pretty neat story. I was playing as France and my king died without an heir. Succession war started between Castile and Austria, where I was on one side with Castile already as a junior partner under them. I figured that I will let them battle it out, mothballed the forts, hid my armies and waited to see who would win just to declare independence war afterwards on battered victor. During that time, I could not do much, could not declare wars etc. so I just waited.
During the war, pretender rose with a strong claim to a French throne, so I let him be and wondered how it would end up if he would impose demands during a succession war. He took over Paris and it started to look like he might have a shot! I moved my armies back home to try to block Austrian armies from taking over Paris and Pretender won! I got a notification that our personal union with Castile has ended because of the death of Castilian king (not true of course and message was probably closest one to truth that the game had to offer).
So, I got my country back but succession war was still going on. I figured that now I could probably peace out with Austria but I actually could not! I still got a notification that the succession war is over France so I cannot do that. To kill time, I decided to go into a war with England. Finally, the succession war ended with Austria winning. Message said 'With "No Casus Belli' Castile will pay Austria some gold' and that is it.
Sorry for no screenshots. What do you guys think? Did the game react correctly when I got my independence back? At some point I figured that I will automatically go to war with whoever would win succession war but that did not happen. Maybe it would be more realistic that way?
