I declared war on someone, and they asked someone who I had a truce with to join the war. Even though I didn't declare war on them, I still incurred the prestige loss as if I had. Is the game WAD here?

Where did it tell you that you lost the prestige? Breaking a truce costs you 50% of your prestige, +200 prestige
Yeah, it turns out I was an idiot, and had forgotten that I had declared war on them about 9 - 9.5 years ago, so I actually did have a truce with them. I looked again and saw that.
