Would it be possible to gain prestige and in diplomatic relations if after a awar you make particularly reasonable and moderate demands, well below what you could demand based on warscore alone? I was thinking specifically of France in the War of Polish Succession, where despite losing in Poland (but succesful in the Italy and Lorraine), France managed to get Lorraine for Stanislav Leckinzski to eventually be inherited by France, and by being so 'reasonable' kept England out of the war.

That is the system used in CK and since EUIII will also have prestige, I guess the system won't be that different

Yeah, there was some "humiliate them" option that got you prestige and lost prestige for them, I think.

That's the case in Victoria, and I'm with you in that I hope it will also be the case in EU2.

And what can be this prestige used for, I ask? I know the Victoria it was important for the rather elaborate world market system, but what about EU?

Court members, succession wars/personal unions, probably lots of events, maybe it could give a bonus for the amount of diplomats you get or a small boost to your armies' morale...

Never played CK and played Vicky very little as my computer was crap (128MB RAM), but I will be getting a new one over the christmas period in readiness for EU III :D.

Yes, I imagine in a succession war, if you have higher prestige than the other guy, you will be more likely to be chosen. I would prefer also if it gave a bonus to the number of diplomats you can get per year as dips will be doing a bit more I think in EU III as you will need them now to make leaders.

I dont see how, getting more prestige is a good thiing, getting BB a bad one. You conquer a country your prestige should go up showing how powerful you are, but your reputation (BB) should go down, showing what a heartless monster you are.

@BB: We've already seen an event which added badboy in a dev diary.

I guess, it's modelled that way:
prestige -> how much your country/government is respected by other countries/your citizens
badboy -> how much your country/government is feared by other countries/your citizens

In EUII? Just place the cursor above your reputation (eg. the '"we are a dishonorable scum"etc etc'-stuff) and wait for the tooltip to show up...
