What determines prestige gained from marrying into a rival house? I have somethings like 650 in my dynasty prestiege and the rival had like 100 less and it was still going to give me a 100 boost from marrying someone from his house into mine. How does it work?

If he marries into your house, of course he's going to get a lot of prestige. The woman from your house is going to take a prestige hit, most likely. Are you sure you read the text correctly?

I don't think it compares your house prestige to his. You get prestige for marrying into a nice house and he gets prestige for marrying into yours. You can check after the marriage to compare how much you gain versus how much the spouse gains. I would assume that you would gain some prestige and he would gain a little bit more.

the House prestiges are for always boons, and dependent on the prestige of the Dynasty. The only way you lose prestige in marriage is if you marry your Imperial Princess daughter to a courtier, who would be 4 or 5 noble steps down from her, which is 80-100 prestige loss for HER. This can be compensated if the guy is a Rurikovich, for instance, and his family prestige is huge.

But really, you usually marry for claims and stats (order varies depending on stage of game), prestige from marriage tends to be a RP-consideration
