  • Crusader Kings II: The Old Gods
I'm a brother of my liege King of England and I'm a duke of a Welsh duchy. I have made strong alliances with several other vassals in the realm and declared war against the King to press my claim on England but the game doesn't allow me to call my allies in the realm to war. Could somebody please tell me the reason why?

When you declare war against your liege, the game gives you a temporary independent title. As an independent nation, you cannot call allies that are vassals to another country.

What you should have done instead is start a faction that puts you on the throne of England. Your allies could then have joined your faction (if they like you enough) or you can force them to join using favors or your spymaster.

Thank you, it's kind of you to reply. I wonder another thing about this, too. After I started that faction, would I be allowed to call my other allies in the realm who were not supporting my faction to war, too?

No.

When you start a faction war, the leader of the faction (you) becomes the temporary liege from all the other faction members (allies or not). Allies that were not in your faction will remain your liege's vassals and therefore cannot join you.
