Press de jure claim

An alerte pop up saying I can press a de jure claim on viscaya since now I hold the title of Duke of Navarra, but it seems there`s nothing to do about it, it doesn´t give me a claim or a CB on Viscaya´s holder

I´m playing a french vassal, started as count of Armagnac a couple of generations ago, Viscaya is held by the king of Castilla, previously by his father a castillan duke

Is there any mechanic I´m missing? the alert icon is just there doind nothing...a nice icon though, praise the artist!

It probably has to do with France's Crown Authority.

Hover over the "declare war" option on Viscaya's holder, and it will tell you what you are missing.

Not sure if it's the same thing that confused me as Scotland, but I had to declare war on the king of Norway to grab Caithness for Moray, not on the holder of Caithness itself. It confused me for about 15 years, since I thought there was some criteria I was lacking.

yep, apparently it has to do with french laws not allowing vassals to declare wars

Now I have to figure how to convince the french king, who is married to my sister, to let me go to war...I guess I´ll join the next rebellion
