Since the release of apocalypse I have been quietly working on creating a new custom map for the Star Trek: New Horizons mod. Part of this new map is a custom hyperlane network to enforce geographic seperation between various empires, as well as push certain outcomes. Soon after finishing it I started noticing weird AI behaviour: The AI is no longer surveying neighbouring systems, instead it very deliberatly targets low id-numbered systems. Some empires target system #0, yet other empires target system #2-10 (#1 is occupied by the United Federation of Planets and therefore not surveyable). Every repeat game the same empires target the same systems for surveying.
This is basicly the result:
(note this screenshot is pre-patch, but the result is more or less the same)

The AI comes from all corners of the map to survey the central region (because that is where the low numbered systems are).
When I turn off/remove the prescripted hyperlanes the AI behaves as normal, and surveys the neighbouring systems.
Am I the only (first?) person to run into this issue? I tried looking for it, but could not find another post on the subject.
Are there any solutions? Aside from it breaking immersion by ensuring contact with all species in a few years, it also greatly handicaps the AI in its early expansion.
I tried looking at invalid hyperlanes (double routes, looping unto itself), but with so many custom hyperlanes it is't easy to find any.
I also waiting with posting this until the patch came out, as I had hoped the undiscovered hyperlane thing would force the AI to behave differently.
