Also sounds like some have an odd way of thinking when it comes to what Devs do with DLC, they don't withold stuff and then decide to make people pay extra for that, usually it's something that is planned to be added besides that, and anything witheld and added in such a case would be because they could not add it before that at all.

I assume that means that financially you have spent up on your development budget, and could only justify the extra work for extra
pay - if that is the case then it would have been better to wait a while
and then everyone might have felt that we were actually being offered
something extra.
This is what I agree with.
I'm not really affected by the sprite pack, as I know I can still play the game fine without it.
However, I think that perception is very important, as releasing Day One content for a cost makes gamers feel like they didn't get the entire game at release.
Is it normal that my order status is Pending and Pending and Pending a little longer? Paid with PayPal (as always) and never had any problems with it. Oh plus - cant see HoI3 in My Games (tho guess its normal since its Pending and Pending and Pending a little more even )

Will any DLC be available to purchase through Paradox's website and/or forums in the future? Or does Paradox have an exclusive deal with GG that will perclude this for the foreseeable future?

Finally managed to preorder off gamersgate! It was a problem with the company, not the website. I'll retract my comments about gamersgate.
I think it is a massively shit idea.
So don't do it anymore.
I think this is a little harsh. If, as Johan indicated, they wouldn't produce the content if they weren't going to sell it as DLC, and they will only sell non-game affecting content as DLC, then I don't think its a horrible idea.
OK I do have to ask:
What on earth is DLC? And why are people making such a big deal over it in this thread? I mean the way I see it I get to preorder the game I`ve been waiting for ages and get some extra stuff. Cant see any minuses really.

I believe it was a tongue in cheek response to the post by Fredrick, it wasn't I assume mean't to be insulting.
I dont know what i think about this, i suppose paradox is a business and needs to generate cash to survive, but i know what i feel about this and that is disapointed.
I have loved all paradox games in the 'eu' , 'vicky' and 'hoi' mould since eu1, so i guess i have always thought of paradox as the company that supplies the games i want, to the standard i want whilst still having that small, personal touch, type of feel about it. This takes that away for me, i want the same HOI3 as everyone without having to buy DLC or go to a certain site, the fact that the idea has bore fruit at paradox shocks me to be fair.
I have wanted HOI3 for months now and still cant wait to play, but this has soured that great paradox experience i feel each time a new game comes along, the previews, screens, aar's - all excellent at building you up for the game is out... now accompanied by the 'buy here get more option' just before release...oh dear

In the UK, digital download is 40% more expensive than in the shops so many people here will purchase from the shops instead. Hence they will not get the extra stuff without paying extra for it.
How the blue coin works ?
I discovered today that I have a gamers gate profile and was rated as a red member (but was unable to find what that should mean ^^), I also discovered that I have for 10E of blue coin with out buying a single one so I thought I earn it buying game. Is there some place to know how it works ?
And another question does the game bought before the blue coin things give me blue coin (if not you should think about it ^^).
Johan stated that blue coin are indexed on $. But I bought game in E so if dollar go down (that will happen again), I will loose money as I can't buy game for 39$ but 39E, right ?

Thanks. I live in the UK too and didnt even know about the price difference. Guess that is what I pay for not shopping around...
Thinking about is: isnt GG's price same for everyone (nvm about what country are they from)? Means people should be rather glad that they got a CHOICE of getting it 40% cheaper at shops if they want?
Your assumption about getting blue coins by purchasing games is correct, but you also get blue coins by being active on Gamersgate. Like for example reviewing the games you have purchased and helping people through the Game Tutor system. Though I have no idea how the membership system works.
And yes, it seems like games purchased before the website upgrade give blue coins. I noticed that I had some after the upgrade, and by that time I had not purchased any new games.
Given there are ways to acquire the coins for "free," I am more intrigued by the idea.
