There may be hidden tax reasons, but I think the prices are set in an artifical way. The difference between 40€ (~57$) and 40$ is not the VAT.

That's true. You can't update prices quite often though to reflect the currency conversion rate. And atm the $-€-rate is pretty bad for the USD. I'd say that they set the prices in that way to still fit if the USD rises again. ATM the GPB is also worth nothing making purchases from Play.com a steal. I just bought the entire COH Anthology there for less than 20 Euros including shipping. Gamersgate or Steam charge three times that!!!
Interesting idea about the addons. I'm o.k. with it, though the buy blue chips to by a product bothers me some. Why not let me buy with either method without the need to convert first?
As far as the sprite download goes, how does the game run with sprites? In HOI2 I went to counters to avoid slowdowns (therefore the spite pack would be of little value). Given the greater map area and need for more counters on the map, do sprites work or totally bog the system down?
NOTE: I don't mind paying for extras as long as the extras download in a way that I can easily transfer to my game computer. I currently don't DD any game due to the lack of ease of moving it from my cheepy laptop (which is load with virus and security checks) to my game system (which has no security to minimize game slowdowns) which can't go on the internet (doen't have cable internet capabilities).

Can't you just use a USB key? You can buy them for next to nothing... I picked up a 4 GB USB key in a drugstore (!) for about $12 Canadian.
I have a USB zip drive. What I mean is, DD want to load directly to the computer you DL to. I need an exe or something that I can copy over and have install on my game system.
Odd... I was under the impression that GamersGate DL'd an Installer (exe) file, and that other DD sources like Steam did a direct install.
... am I mistaken?
