Why are all those downloads more expensive than a hardcopy of the game?
Because if they were not, there would be no hardcopies. Retailers don't like competing with digital distribution.

Why are all those downloads more expensive than a hardcopy of the game? I could preorder the game for 32.odd € from play.com in the UK, free delivery to germany. Or i could pay 39.99€ for a Download at Impulse or Gamersgate.
If i have to pay 32€ for a hardcopy, i wont sure as hell don´t pay more than 20€-25€ for a gamedownload.
I once dowanloaded a game via Impulse, Sins of a Solar empire, and i was not satisfied the least, since the downloadsspeeds were only about 1.5MB/s and i could only get the most up to date version of the game, so i had quite some problems with mods.

I'm quite sure I'm not from EU.Yes, your location.

Not everyone! I want to actually hold a DVD in my hands(i.e., everyone rushing to preorder from digital distribution services).
Well, can't really blame them for trying to not lose money. Digital distribution is a very real threat to them, just observing the behavior of people on forums (i.e., everyone rushing to preorder from digital distribution services).
I am quite confused aboot GG price. A lot of peeps talk about 39.99 USD which is fine for me but it seems it costs 39.99 EUR which is 40% more. Am I missing something?
So what? They are supposed to serve their customers, not the other way round... And so is Paradox. Digital Distribution is cheaper, customers pay less. Nothing to argue here.
You don't have to, the price for your region might simply be set to € 40.I'm quite sure I'm not from EU.
AFAIK people from the US can buy for 40$ from Gamersgate though.Besides that's not the problem. If the store is hosted in the EU you have to pay VAT even if you're not in the EU - because the store HAS to charge VAT by european law. You need a non-EU store to avoid that. SO even if you're US or Kenian, it doesn't matter as long as you buy from Gamergate-EU.
