Well......the game always tells you "Truce with *nation* ended ecc..." a month or a few days before it actually ends and you can attack them again but....this time....I mean...look at the screens and the days.....this is not normal....right?

https://imgur.com/a/XMjtW

Edit: I put the screens in the wrong order, they will help you understand the situation but I'll write the same here

Truce with Tlemcen seems to end in July 1696.....the games tells the truce ends the 1th May(a bit too early I would say but ok)........Tlemcen joins the coalition 6 days after.....The coalition is the problem, usually you have to hurry attack a nation so you avoid them joining the coalition, once with Tunisi they joined the coalition the same damn day the truce ended, that was pretty weird and there was nothing I could do about that but this time......I think this is too much

And the thing is(I just checked) I can't attack them in the days between the truce's end and the coalition joinings because it keeps telling me "breaking truce" but the truce symbol, the little flag it's not there....god damn

That happens SOOOO often, this is one of the most annoying bugs of the game, this has been reported dozens of time, this has not been patched in over a year. Just accept it...

The only thing you can do is popup pause for truce to declare instantly before they join a coalition, but you're not always ready so you can't always snatch mothballed forts because of that. Hella annoying.

well....or it is the first time it actually happened to me, or it is the first I actually noticed it....ANYWAY.....being ready for war is not a problem I'm way stronger than Tlemcen I'd probably end the war in a year or so but the problem as I wrote above, is that, they are protected by the truce and CAN join the coalition....I can't do anything to trick the game....cause I would get the -5 stabilty and the -60 AE....they are basically "immune", what you wrote about the instan declare can be of any help when they end truce and join the coalition the same day, but what can I do when they are still under the truce protection and can do whatever they want?

I know! SAVESCUM.....that's too bad

Oh right, this instance is even rarer but now that you mention it I remember seeing it once. When they can join a coalition but you can't declare yet. Can you threaten war?

well.....no I couldn't do that, cause I was at war...but even after the end of the war I couldn't it either cause..."THERE WAS A TRUCE"....but you know....you know for sure that coalitions are really unstable, they need just one member leaving it and the others will fall all together....sometimes it happens sometimes no....well after coming back to try the Threaten war thing the coalition disappeared so stupid Tlemcen can't do s**t about it....anyway this is bug

please mod don't report

So I've been lucky this whole time....this affects when you expanding quickly, then all you can do is reloading everytime until this doesn't happen or the coalition disappeares

I assumed this was an intended feature and not a bug to allow countries to join coalitions to avoid the player from perma-trucing them. An alternative solution to this issue would be to allow nations to join coalitions while they have a truce with a nation, and simply bypass the truce flag for coalition wars.

I don't really understand what you're saying here but the thing is that......one of the coalitions rule is that a nation cannot join if it has a truce with the "big expander"....that's how it was intended...I think.......cause 99% of the times this doesn't happen

the bigger problem is that isn't always the case and is inconsistent at best. Some times it WILL end on the 27th and others the 1st of the next month. you kinda have to check the declare war screen on every one.

Now normally, the joining of a coalition shouldn't be happen in that odd window. I think it can happen sometimes if its an early coalition and your overall strength is rubbish but I think the logic holds for them as it does you. That while its "OVER" its not really till the 1st of the month.... unless you reload and it rechecks everything....

As for the issue I think its the same/similar issue as some of the hot join problems in where the data is stored (the cached part) and when its updated. This can be seen quite easily by the loss of trade good bonuses on a reload or a myriad of other things going on and off on reloads. So while it may effect truces its not an isolated issue with what seems no where near an easy fix. (honestly I don't know how they would fix this one). That post was quite insightful on many issues other than hot join IMO.

Peace out on the last day of the month. Countries don't join coalitions instantly after truce ends, takes a few days.

does that even work 100% of the time?

I can't say that it works 100% of the time but I haven't remembered it to not work. If the truce ends a few months rather than days in advance then there's nothing you can do. It doesn't hurt to try either way. I can't recall countries joining a coalition instantly though unless you save and restart from the day the truce ends. It always takes at least a day's tick. If you have paused popups for truces and a diplomat free it should be fine.
