Several screenshots have shown that Humans will inhabited the Sol system. I am curious if the other premade species will have their own home systems that are preset or if they will be random?

With the same screenshots, the systems closest to Sol are actually what they are in reality, but I don't think species have their preset systems other than what their homeworld will be

Would be nice if you can add civilizations to the "preset list". For example you come accros a specific civilization you really like so you save them in that list so you can get to play them, or add them, to your next game. In a similar way you can create species and add them to the preset list so you can have your own custom game.

Would be a nice mechanic to have and not too intensive to implement I'd believe.

Humans is the only pre made race that have a chance to be in the game (but I think ethos will be random). All other pre made races are only to give some options for the player (but you can create a custom race).

I don't think you can setup which races will be in the game as you should not know what races you will meet.

Fantastic idea, i'd love to see this along with an ability to input your own factions you create as AI empires

what phalanx said. plus since we already know the IRL Sol system and IRL humans are guaranteed to be ingame alongside the starter races we've all seen since stellaris was unveiled, it actually seems pretty solid that there is at least some kind of preset list, just that PDS won't use it much for the sake of randomness.
