IMO, you shouldn't be able to colonize it until you have researched Zero-G Engineering, much like you can't do anything with the Cybrex system until you research Mega Engineering.
If I say differences in scale and differences in kind does it ring a bell? Yeah 5 gas may be powerful it is however classic differences in scale, the only thing making it unique is that it has few more gas deposits then you usually find, it may be useful but it is mind numbingly boring.
Boring but Cybrex Prime is basically the worst one. Form a min/max PoV by the time you can do anyhing with it it doesn;t matter and if you repair it instead of building the matter decompressor well yeah. Cybrex Prime is a late game win more prestige novelty thing.

Diffrences in kind, cybrex alpha like fen habanis allows you to do something you otherwise couldn't, that is get a ring world (or int eh case of fen habanis an ecumenopolis) without having to spend more ascension perks on it. Which means you can get a ring world even if you focused on something else with you ascesion perks. Meanwhile claim five systems with a gas in each and you have an Irass. It's a good system but it doesn't provide you with anything unique.
I'm sure it's good from a min max point of view but seriously do you need to min max to beat the AI in stelarris? No you don't so who cares? It's essentially the difference between being unstoppable 100 years into the game or 150 years into the game.
I disagree with cybrex being number 2. It does nothing until you have mega engineering, and I don't really find ring worlds to be a very exciting prospect. Since I can only build one mega structure at a time, I'd rather just build another than repair cybrex.
I disagree
despite you are right about its requirement it has another benefit:
it makes "galactic wonders" appear earlier
having a destroyed megastructre in your system boosts chance of tech appearing by 20
having cybrex means you can get tech faster
if you are planning to build mega structres but dont waste an entire ascension point on habitats its best outcome since you can get ascension faster
Completing the First League chain awards an Ecumonopolis with a lot of tile blockers, but it's just too strong. At the point when you can get it 5 special districts is more than enough and there isn't even a need to clear any blockers. One foundry district can fund the whole alloy economy and it's generally way too strong for this stage of the game. I would either restart or don't follow the event chain, because planet like that will only ruin my fun and sense of challenge.
Can there be anything limiting the strength of this planet? Maybe a debuff to pop resource output until some expensive project is done?
Would like to throw out there that someone on Reddit figured out that precursors actually spawn in certain areas of the galaxy (as in, surveying planets in that part of the galaxy will yield a specific precursor and no other), and made maps so you can save scum game starts until you spawn in the area of the galaxy that has a precursor of your choice. Here, if you're interested. Maps for non elliptical galaxies are in the first reply for that post. It's really useful if you want the cybrex or first league.
