I both agree and disagree. I thought the editions were all pretty cool, but then again, I like "behind the scenes" stuff like art books a lot. It was the best part of buying the Life is Strange limited edition for me.

The best collector's edition content I've received today was the little pebble from the Berlin wall that I got with the World in Conflict Collector's Edition :3 .

It appears that he's upset that the more expensive preorder options aren't worth it to him. Really that's all I get from it.

And then there's me, feeling like a cheap shit because in my country, the base version of Stellaris only cost me 10$ because we're all cheap shits over there and everybody lowers the price for us... Now I feel bad.

What's cheap for you and cheap for someone else isn't necessarily the same, it depends on your economy. It's probably also harder to earn good money where you are.

39.99 is great, it's 20-30 bucks cheaper than most other AAA Titles, and higher quality than alot of the garbage we see for 60-70 bucks.

Even though I agree in terms of quality I disagree in terms of price. It's not like most of the AAA titles are really sold für the recommended price, most titles are sold for most of the time for the same price as Stellaris. Of course there are shops where games cost 60 to 70 bucks but who really buys there?

Preordered the galactic edition for the artbook alone.
Special editions are almost never worth it from a pure monetary standpoint, but honestly when I heard about how large the artbook is it was an instant sell for me.
What can I say I'm just a sucker for good game art XD

I think people are not understanding what the OP is saying. He is not saying he is mad that there are preorders. He is not mad that paradox has different tiers of preorders. He also is not confused on if he must buy the more expensive versions.

He is saying that he came in wanting to give money for some form of a Felix edition and is not happy with what is in the package. He knows he is not forced to buy it. It's ok to wish different items were given.

Well, better they sell it for 10$ to you then nobody is able to afford it. So codus to PDX.

Meh, if they were restricting serious functionality between game versions I'd be pretty ticked. But I think the more expensive options are more for basically "donating" to p-dox, which is fine. I do wish there was an option to just pre-purchase all DLC that will come out though.

I wonder if this Donation is tax deducable...

The Book as Softcover does cost 12€ in Germany (Amazon) - as there is a law in Germany that forbids EBooks (all Books) to be sold at different Prices (really old law that just streches to the Digital Area by accident more or less) - the EBook in the Galaxy Edition alone is worth the extra 10€.
So if you want the book you get a good deal (in germany that is ^^)
