Pre-ordered from a non-Steam retailer and already own CK2 in Steam? *UPDATED*

Unfortunately, if you own CK2 on Steam and then redeem your EU4 key from a non-Steam retailer then you won't get an extra copy of CK2 in your inventory.

If you want a copy of the game to gift to a friend, please contact our support through paradox.zendesk.com and make sure to also send us a copy of your receipt from the retailer, both for CK2, and your pre-order along with your request for a copy of CK2.
It might take us a few days to handle your request but we'll do our best to get it done as soon as possible.

*UPDATE* Don't worry if you have to wait a week for your key, we are working as fast as we can but we are mere humans with the need for sleep and food. If you sent us a ticket, then you'll get a reply from us sooner or later.

I think so too; and I don't think that if either is 'wrong' they'd end up rejecting it, it might at worst take a little longer to forward to the proper persons.

What about people who ordered from Greenmangaming but do not have their order reciept anymore? GMG does not resent order reciepts as they are created automatically.
Is there another way to prove that the game was bought over GMG?

You've received an Email with the serial keys from GMG today. That should be sufficient?

Check your CK2 DLCs, the save converter should already be there.

How can I prove my CK2 purchase? I deleted the receipt that Steam sent me when I bought it well over a year ago now. I took a screenshot of the GMG receipt, so I can prove my EU4 purchase, but the only things I can do for CK2 is taking a screenshot of the game in my Steam library with the hours played count (which is over 600, well more than I could pull off if I got the game today) and my individual game key. Would that be sufficient?

EDIT: I submitted the ticket with the CK2 screenshot, since that's pretty much the best I can do.

Apparently you can view your transaction history in the Steam client.

To view your transaction history

1. Open your Steam window and click on the button at the top right corner of the screen that says "<yourname>'s account" (its next to the envelope icon)
2. Select "Account details" on the pull down menu.
3. Select the "Store Transactions" tab, you will be able to view your past transactions.

Take a screenshot of it.

Similar situation here: I have CK2 from Gamersgate and I bought EU4 on Steam because they had that discount if you already had EU3 (which I did).

So how would I go about getting the Converter from GG?

This is exactly my situation too. I have CK2 + loads of dlcs from GG, and now a plain CK2 + converter from Steam, and my idea was to give away my Steam CK2 copy.

Hi, folks

I was wondering if someone in a similar position might be able to shed some light on this situation. I already owned a copy of CK2 on GamersGate and pre-ordered EUIV on GamersGate. Once I'd pre-ordered EUIV, I immediately received a second copy of CK2 in my GamersGate library, however this only appeared to offer a second serial code for the forum and didn't give me the opportunity to gift the additional copy.

I went to download EUIV this evening and registered my authentication keys for both EUIV and the Pre-order Content on Steam. As soon as I'd registered the Pre-order content, Steam started downloading another copy of CK2. I'm left wondering if this is actually my additional copy from pre-ordering EUIV through GamersGate, although the EUIV pre-order details on GamersGate state that the bonus copy of CK2 is DRM free, which Steam isn't.

I guess I'll need to contact GamersGate Support (and possibly Steam Support) to clear this up, but I thought that I probably wasn't the only person in this position.

I'd quite like to spread the CK2 love and gift this additional copy, if possible.

This is exactly my situation too. I have CK2 + loads of dlcs from GG, and now a plain CK2 + converter from Steam, and my idea was to give away my Steam CK2 copy.

I am in the same "Boat" as this person is here. I could have purchased it from Gamergates but the entire fiasco with IGN about a year ago has been keeping me from spending my money there (this is personal only). So any suggestions? As my copy of CK2 (purchased from GG on release day) is not linked to Steam in anyway.
