It would be lovely if you made the same offer as you did with HoI3. :)
The Complete Version, like with Hoi2. :)

Just to get some knowledge about Victoria first. Cheers. :)

Another question, why doesn't Steam sell Victoria?

I would buy that.
And for god sake, no Steam! Its worst human invention ever (no, seriously, hydrogen bomb is nothing compared to Steam)!
I would actually prefer standard box version, but I understand why it will not (probably) be released in box version.

I don't like Gamersgate. :p
However my HttT is from Gamersgate and EU3 Complete from Steam. :)

Gamersgate's tech support is decent.
Steam's tech support is inexistent. :p

uh. you guys know that gamersgate is owned by paradox right? THerefore I think you would be able to support paradox more by buying it through Gamersgate.

I already have victoria. Maybe a Beta or a Demo would be better.

Paradox don't own Gamersgate anymore, although they both operate out of the same office block.

I still do not understand the unfounded anger against Steam on these boards. It's distribution system is far superior and simpler than any I've ever come across, it has a social networking system, a newsfeed, and a way of keeping track of, and launching all the games you've purchased or downloaded with the service. Even Stardock's Impulse UI pales in comparison to it. Steam's tech support is faster than almost any other I've worked with. I can already see that most of you who are dissapointed with tech support through Steam have never dealt with the horror of EA Tech Support.

The only reason I could think of for the sentiment is a pre-disposition towards Valve.

And I'm fairly sure that Vicky 2 is going to be sold over Steam, like EU3 and Rise of Prussia.

Well you have to be connected to it to play your games. So a) if your internet's down and b) if it just refuses to connect, you're screwed.
They say you can play offline but that feature doesn't work, at least it didn't for me.

There's always the simple option of downloading the game, then copying/moving the folder to, say, your downloads/documents folder.

I usually buy my games from GamersGate and then add the key to Steam nowadays, though, ever since the horror of EU3 Complete being auto-patched, and ruining my games and flag files.

Just turn auto patching off...

But well... Lets turn this thread back to the topic.

It would be lovely if you made the same offer as you did with HoI3. :)
The Complete Version, like with Hoi2. :)

Just to get some knowledge about Victoria first. Cheers. :)

Another question, why doesn't Steam sell Victoria?

But don't do the pay extra ripoff that was done on the HoI3 digital pre-orders.
I pre-ordered HoI3 but the physical copy not the digital - and I saved so much on this I could have bought HoI2 complete and still saved money.

The digital pre-orders had a "free" bonus (different for the different companies) but were charging more than the RRP for the pre-order. On release day you could buy the game at RRP (but without the pre-order bonus) whereas the boxed game in the online stores was available pre-order at a significant discount to RRP. IIRC HoI3 digital pre-order £35, digital day of release £30, boxed pre-order £18.
