Can someone explain to me why you would want to pre-order a game? Like, why not just buy it when it comes out? Either way, you will get it when it's out.
Ok. I think people preorder for different reasons. A lot of it is "I gotta have it first". It's a mentality that is widely viewed as the worst aspect of "Preorder culture". Some people Preorder to show support for a studio. Like it or not, a high number of preorders is a good thing for a company. Some people have poor spending habits. They know they want to buy the game, but are actually not responsible enough to save money. This is a common cause. I know several of my friends who have the money now, and they want the preorder because they don't know if they can hold on to the cash.
Personally, and I might be alone here, I'm an anxious person. I can actually get stressed waiting for something to happen. I'm itching for this game. The act of preordering takes the edge off. It may sound strange, but it does. Plus I heart Paradox. After hearing the Jimquisition do a convincing argument not to preorder things unless you trust the company, Paradox is the only company I tend to preorder from anymore.
Anyway, that is just my view on the matter. I'm no industry expert. Just some guy who loves video games.
