First of all:

Yes, I have red the entire Pre-Order Thread. But there are a lot of questions unanswered atm for German users because of this article
http://www.gamestar.de/spiele/hearts-of-iron-4/news/hearts_of_iron_4,50515,3272730.html
of a German gamers-magazine.

They claim that it's not possible for German inhabitants to buy HoI4 anywere else than just from Steam. Not from German Amazone and even not from your Paradox-onlinestore because of a geolock and the particularities of the German version of the game.

1. Is that true?
2. If not: How do I get Colonel or Field Marshal edition of HoI4 from Amazon.de?

There are no options on Amazone besides the main game for 39.99.

3. If possible: Is this offering a physical distribution?

There is also no information on Amazone whether it is a DVD or just a key.
I would love to get this game as physical distribution because I've got all HoI1-3 + Addons that way (execept for HoI 3 which I own twice( DVDs + Steam) :D to play coop with friends).

Dan said multiple times that there will be physical distributions in UK and Germany (Sorry, meant Yermany of course;)).

And to make things clear:

This is not. I repeat: NOT!!! a thread for Germans (Sorry again, Yermans) to whine about 'censorship' or something.
I don't care if some leaders are in the shadows and some symbols are removed in that version. Instead I'm very thankfull that Paradox take the extra effort in programming HoI 4 that it fits to G(Y)erman laws whether they are good or bad. Thanks guys.:)

I see this like Daniel does once told us in WWW:
'I play this game for fun not to stare at Hitlers face.'

Paradox is also responsible to make a fun game out of it but not a joke. Remeber that millions died those days!

This thread just exist to make sure that there are no bad surprises for G(Y)erman pre-orders at release day.

Thank you for answering this in advance:). I would love to use an Amazon-gift-card to buy that Colonel edition of the game because my family and friends bought me one to buy this game. They know that it's my absolute favorite. So answer this thread as soon as possible that you finally get your money.:D

the article links to this forum, where paradox confirmes, that it will not activate, and you can get refund.
so, we germans are forced to buy directly from steam. we cannot buy where it is cheapest like everyone else can.
i am ok with a censored game, but not with this monopol supporting bullshit.

Usually you can do it this way: Buy a key on any site except Steam, and then activate the game using a VPN/Proxy with a non-german IP.

The only two spots where geoblocking is in effect is the purchase at Steam (you would need means of payment not registered in Germany; this only affects Steam since all other shops do not block buyers from Germany) and Activation, where Steam checks the IP.

This is perfectly legal according to german law. Any contradicting part of user agreements is not valid in Germany (yeah, public law supersedes private contracts).

Monopol supporting bullshit? Don't blame the players, blame the game and in this instance it's a silly german law which fucks it all up :/

the german law might require the censoreship, but it does certainly not require the geolock.
it is common practise and perfectly legal to import games to germany.

I don't think there will be more than the normal version as retail version from amazon.

You can still get the "German" version from the Colonel or Field Marshal edition directly from Steam if you just log in from Germany and buy them there.
