Are they giving you a date for dispatch? I ordered for £22.47 on Jan 9th, and now it's £29.99. I suspect they'll fulfil the higher price pre-orders first.

Yeah, same here. Just got an e-mail from them today and it says it's been delayed, but there's no estimate from their 'supplier'. Funny enough, in the Amazon CK2 page it says "in stock".

If you're incredibly lucky this is Amazon's way of telling you the game's relase date has been delayed a week.

If you're not incredibly lucky Paradox or Amazon greatly under-estimated the demand for CK2, which means you'll have to wait for them to print more boxed copies.

Amazon have emailed me to tell me they've run out of stock and don't know when it'll be in. Hopefully before release, otherwise I'll be buying a download. I'm a bit annoyed, and I'm not sure who is at fault - this has only happened once before to me with a game pre-order, and that was EU-rome.

This is why I'm waiting for Steam, normally a game like this I would like to buy the boxed version for my "gaming room" if it came with a map or some stuff like that, as their is nothing or I've missed some info I will go with steam, with what they said about DLC/expansion's steam is a nice place to use for that.

I tried to order through GG, via the Credit Cards via Moneybookers, and it forced me to create an account. I did so but then it didn't let me pay with my credit card, saying the account is locked until I put funds in it, which I would rather not do. I've tried numerous times, but I simply would not let me pay with just a credit card. Any advice, o forum?

GG give me the option to "Credit cards via Paypal" and having done this before, I believe you should be able to straight up pay with your credit card, perhaps even without an account. I do not that paypal does NOT require that an account be loaded with money before it is unlocked.

Good luck!

Thanks! I did it and it was for more straightforward than Moneybooker, which I had used before without a problem. Quite the mild annoyance. A further question: why don't the bonus DLCs show up on the order?

They should be there in the same folder on GG as Crusader kings, honestly the old site was a little better when it comes to game management and searching by genre for games to buy

Zavi, Sendit and TheHut are akk owned by the same company and they sell boxed versions, not downloads

"Availability: Usually dispatched within a month "

Also, they're outside of the EU, legally speaking, so their prices don't include VAT

But yeah. I, too, find it bordering on rip off policy to charge full retail for a download copy when a boxed one retails for 30% off. The profit margin on downloads is way higher than retail.

Will we be able to play the game (The boxed edition) right away when we recive it, or is it's activation through steam locked until the 14th?
Because my mate just called me, he bought it from a local store, and they have just sent him a text that his game is in the mail, and will arrive tomorrow. I thought release was the 14th?
I was meaning to buy it on steam, but I'll buy the boxed edition if this means I can play this week.

*Edit*
Nevermind, I found the answer.

Well, 39 EUR for a non boxed game thats still expensive TBH. Marginal cost to distribute copies over internet must be nearing 0.

Something like 25 EUR would be fair, considering that there will be something like 3 or 4 extensions priced 20 EUR each to buy after.

An of course, seeing the game for 30% less at another store is always infuriating. Well you get bonuses at GG, 2 DLC, so must be worth something around 3 EUR in total. Doesnt really explain the difference in price.

Well now its done, I hope the game is enjoyable.

The Zavi/The Hut price has been known for a couple weeks at least.

Its a question of profit margins. The standard deal in the business world is that the distrubutor gets a product with roughly 55% off retail, then the retailer gets it for about 30% off and sells for whatever he/she wants, although its common practice not to go below 10% off (Amazon) in order to prevent a dumping war.

PI should not have allowed The Hut and its affiliates to go so much below retail that one could have pre-ordered from them a week ago for 18 Euros (the going rate now is 26) which means that they were 50% off. Its simply unfair to the customers that pay full retail to pre-order from GG or Steam. This is probably something that is out of PI's hands, but it reflects badly on their image and, consequently, they should re-consider their contracts with such web-sites in the future.

Just my 2 cents.

Agreed! This way the early adopters are being penalized.
