Some pre-orders aren't eligible however. Most recent one being Dark Souls III which wouldn't accept the voucher, unfortunately.

That's not the case here, though; all editions of Stellaris are eligible.

Why did anyone disagree with this? The difference in price isn't a huge deal for everyone but this kind of thing is helpful for people on a tight budget.

I've used GMG in the past and they've been alright, and excellent on price. just remember that their refund policy isn't as great as other places, because of the way they distribute the game key means that it can't be reused and therefore you cannot refund once you got the steam key email.

From GMG, it is what they it says in their website but you will get all this on release day because you won't get your steam key earlier.

Yeah. In this case though, GMG isn't shipping out Steam activation code until May 9th release date, so they are willing to refund right now. I've just done so, refunding the Galactic for the Nova.

No, not until release day when you get your activation code. As far as I can tell, RIGHT NOW you can only get the forum icon and forum avatars if you purchased directly from Steam and linked/synced your accounts.

I'm well aware. Were you trying to quote someone else, because otherwise how does your post contradict mine? I suggested that it's not just GMG--anywhere BUT Steam would not give you forum icon and avatars because activation codes aren't sent out until release date.

I recommend Steam if these prices are true. Steam sells the Standard Edition for 270 NOK here in Norway at least. That's 29.10 euro, slightly cheaper than GMG according to the OP. And then you get the goodies faster!

This is the sticking point for me too. You'll probably get the other content but the forum content I expect is based on keys generated specially before release, which will probably only be available from these two mediums. I'd be interested to see confirmation of this though.

What does appear interesting, is that those that have cancelled their steam pre-order and done through GMG instead still appear to have their forum content - I wonder if this will remain the case I'd they resync with their steam profiles... Anyone want to test?
