Are there any changes for this coming soon? I'm thinking it needs to be tweaked some more. I don't like the idea of counts or lower requesting to be on the council. They're never powerful by themselves, only in numbers, so it doesn't make sense to me. I believe only Dukes and above should request to be on the council.
Also don't like how council laws work. When I played my Ostlandet/Noregr game, Noregr started out as all enabled council laws. Changing them one by one of the years is going to be extremely hard and/or costly. Currently, the game seems to be running on the assumption of "if im on the council, why would I ever vote to have my power reduced?". It makes sense, but without a bunch of favors and money, it won't ever get changed. Any favors you owe to them will most likely result in them flipping the law back over.
Also noticed a lot more assassinations happen. I had 3 rulers in a row die of suspicious circumstances. Since I was elective gavelkind naturally, and combined with the aforementioned advisor problems, changing the law to avoid constant partitioning and ineffectual rulers, it made it really hard to keep wanting to play that game. I ended up revoking everything from my vassals (and a couple wars), instating fresh advisors and distributing land to my benefit to get rid of all the problems my previous vassals had. I still wasn't able to keep a council law changed for long though, even though they all liked me.
And also, the council gets pissy if you only have 1 counciler and do something that goes against the council because it auto votes no. Even if the 1 counciler is ok with it. I found this out while trying to distribute new land to vassals, so I had to grab a bunch of new holy men and such and fill the positions just so I could plant new vassals without tyranny.
