So I pulled this little guy out of the Shroud. It's like an archon, but on steroids. Too bad I don't have the jump drive it has in order to merge it into my fleet.

I'm loving the synthetic ascension, but stuff like this makes me reconsider my strictly-materialist playstyle. What other goodies does the Shroud provide if I keep gazing into it? Have you guys found anything good?

Is it the covenant of the end that was teased by Wiz (or psionic ascension dev diary, I don't remember)?

I wonder why someone would want to take the covenant. I can imagine it making for a tempting "deal with the devil" during a crisis or when a fallen empire awakens.
