Sorry, this is going to be pictureless, I still cant find where the pictures are.

Novgorod game, trying to set up Russia.

I start off pretty well, taking some of the Russian minors, a little bit of Poland, you know the deal. Then Moscowy declares war. Well, I deal with that, take a couple provinces. Lithuania jumped in, and took some as well, as does the Golden Horde. Here is where is gets jacked up. Lithuania spontaneously combusts. They are now a 2 provnce minor, Nizhny Novgorod formed (West of Moscowy! I actually own the province Nzhny Novgorod), Ukaraine formed, and Polotsk formed (again, a little weird. I own Polotsk.). Well, GH is now huge, and since my eastern front is pretty secure, I declare war. After a pretty nasty fight, a peace out gaining 3 provinces. About 10 years I notice that Ming has fought with the GH, and have conquered a large amount of territory. I save and resign, to see this monstrosity. Ming is ungodly. I wish you all could see this. Kazkh is essentially gone. Ming destroyed the GH. It stretches from the Pacific all the way across Asia to my right.

So there I am, with a 60K army, bordering Ming with a 130K army.

Same situation with huge Ming swallowing most of central Asia, and finally beaten by Russia (me !) with a 5/1 ratio is troops number. Much easier than I thought even if it took 8 years. Just let them come ! Attrition in the eastern Siberian steps in winter is your main ally if you manage yours. Let them come and watch their WE climb. It went up from nothing to 20 in 5 years.Use small stacks (5-6 cav only because the distance are huge) and once their stacks are finish, seige.

I didn't play many game yet. With Novgorod, BB around 20/32, I DOWed Muscowy (fellow Russian brother, but hey ! Russia must be formed, no ?) and then Poland-Lithuania DOW, bringing in Austria + 1 or 2 German Minors, then Teutonic Order decide it was about time, and finally Golden Horde bringing in some far far away muslim countrys I've never heard of, but more annoyingly Ottoman Empire... Oups !4 wars... Took me time but everybody bites the dust ! BB climbs up although... well they deserve it !

I've had it happen too, albeit with 'only' 16k retreating into 1k arriving...hopefully will be fixed. 10-1 should always be an overrun (stay true to the EU boardgame roots!)

EDIT: Although a better fix might be to adjust morale before each engagement based on relative army sizes - to allow the other factors to all still play a part and prevent native stacks running riot for example.

Heh.

For me it was a 40k victorious army that had been hunting Austrian mid-sized stacks. Constantly winning, but slowly loosing morale. So after the last victory I send them back towards my own lines (two provinces away) for some R&R (still 30k:ish left) and it turns out that apparently they had won with zero morale, because they get intercepted in the intervening province by 1k Austrians and killed to a man.

Most annoying :p

I found the pic of the UberAustria that haunts my dreams. Behold:

EU3_1.jpg

Oh, and they're also the HRE. Possibly Papal Controller as well, I'm not sure. What's really irritating is they are apparently undisturbed by revolts, despite their empire consisting almost entirely of non-core, wrong religion and wrong culture provinces.

My only hope (as Russia, with a smaller army and a dozen techs behind) is to try and create an unholy alliance of myself, the remnants of the Ottomans, and the surprisingly unharmed French. I'm not optimistic, the current Czar is a complete Muppet with 0 stars in diplomacy. The Ottomans of course loath me with every fiber of their being, while the French are only slightly negative. Attempting it will also probably bankrupt me, or at least increase my national debt and inflation (already out of control).

1532 Prussia. Despite the efforts of three 6 star diplomats, Prussia becomes Dishonorable Scum for declaring war on the Ottoman Empire. Warnings are issued by the strongest nations nearby: France, Castille, England, Sweden, and Golden Horde. Oh, crap.

I decided to attack Syria with the warnings still in effect. My land tech was 3 levels ahead of the most advanced (Castille), and vastly higher than the 7-tech Golden Horde. Exact tech escapes me. Sweden, England, and Castille all white peaced. France and Golden Horde lost some provinces. :)

Are you copying Tuore's WC?

No I'm certainly not, I haven't even read that one. Why should I copy someone's game? That would be really boring. Though doing WC with Papal state was in my mind, it turned out reeeeaaaallllyyy long and boring rebel hunting after 1650, so I skipped that phase and started a new game :)

so here i am, succesfully beating Austria in a tough war (taking a province from them and liberating Styria and Tirol) and annexing Genoa (situated in Kaffa, their Crimean province) and having annexed Crimea as well.

when Brunswick (the HRE) manages to enforce religious unity on Styria and Tirol, bringing their Imperial Authority up to 50...

the result is my having 7 years to prepare for the coming war... (their Emperor is 8 right now, so the regency council is all standing between them and war with France, which will bring me into it as well (i'm not tossing almost 150 years of alliance down the drain because of the false roman empire)

Man they really oughta make the reforms revert back if a emperor from a different dynasty takes over. It would make much more sense as the new emperor would make concessions for the title and also this wouldnt happen :)

in the end it worked out fine, France used its imperialism cb, so i took several chunks of the empire and made peace.

france then proceeded to take such a huge chunk from the empire that i gift spammed the HRE, so i have an ally for when i come to unite my Italian holdings with the rest of my empire. and the French tossers claimed my throne when my heir died. then my new heir died and now i've got a new Dynasty to build up

and since i'll be able to fight on a small front i'll be able to make some doomstacks and throw em at the French

edit: by request the map pre and post war

Probably a corruption of something, but savegames can be manually edited to be fixed. Post in the tech support forum and ask for help. (One common thing is colonists crossing the dateline - any strange colonizers in the Americas?)

Frozen, I love that map. It's got a great balance-of-power going in Europe. The borders are even nice and sane-looking, for the most part. What's next for your Empire, pushing France back behind the alps, or reconquering Egypt and North Africa?

next up is getting France out of Italy, hence why i allied with the HRE, after that i'm not sure yet, but i'll propably just switch sides again to get the HRE away from the black sea

or Lithuania might get its act together and actually pose a threat to me

No pictures for this one... In my current Austria game I had just successfully defeated the Ottomans after inheriting Hungary. Naturally I ended up with the overextended modifier and a fairly large BB even with the religious war CB. It was also during the reformation and due to my innovative slider setting I couldn't convert any of my provinces. I had two thirds of my empire as the wrong religion so multiple rebellions were popping up each month. Just for fun I completed forming the HRE and ended up in a war against several smaller nations that didn't particularly like giving up control. Not only that, but now I was suffering rebellions all over the empire. In one month I had about five or six new rebellions pop up. I still have no clue how I managed to keep the empire from fracturing.
