This is really cool bro.
I like the way you use the international airport there. I´m about to build an airport in my current city too, and I still don´t know how to lead my highway system to it. Thanks for giving me some hint with this one. I really like it. Its very creative your "three way turbine interchange". Where did you get youre inspiration from?
And the large footprint is nothing more than realistic. I build mine also sooo much bigger then I had to, because It just looks so much better. (more realistic)

Well, i was just trying to make a three way interchange that wasn't too "boring". It actually started as a roundabout interchange but i decided against that. I've always liked turbine interchanges. One of the first interchanges i ever made was a massive four way turbine. This was a few days after release and there was no precision engineering or any mods like that so i had to count squares and heights on a piece of paper and try to get it to work. Here it is:

It's daunting in the beginning. I've made intersections like that myself, just these organic things that grew as needs arose and weren't really efficient.

But as others said, you'll get into it :) .

I second using two-lane roads first, so you get the guides and squares. It helps a lot. I also strongly recommend a mod called 'Precision Engineering.' It adds angle markers, guidelines and other extremely helpful visual tools to help you with your angles and distances. It's a life saver.

The best feeling in the world is when I've created a very complicated interchange, and then realise that I could've gone with a far more simple solution :D .

@ShilkaLive, I didn't look that closely the first time, but now that I'm looking again, you're right. The north, south, and east sections seem correct, but the westbound section seems to have swapped the right lane for the left.

That had to be unintentional I would think.

Hello there

since there are mostly highway junctions here i decided to post some of my "smaller juntions" ;)

The roads coming to this junction are connedted to 3 Highways heading into the city centre. Since i dont want do build big junctions into the city centre (which obviously doesnt exist yet) :O i tried to build a junction with as much capacity as possible...


The by-passes for the right turns were made because of the sharp angles in the junction itself.

A simple cloverleaf at the cargo city (airport)


Ring roads also need flyover junctions to increase travel speed and minimizing lane-crossings..





Unfortunately you have to place right turn by-passes in distance to the actual node to avoid congestion

For some reason I don't like doing triple layers of roads on top of eachother, so I often find myself slinging one side of the highway over to the other side to keep the intersection low (just like in the first pic); In this case it causes some unelegant left lane merging though...

@ShilkaLive, I too have made one of those assymetrical cloverleaves due to space constratins :D . It didn't look half bad, though, and it has a certain charm to it :) .

Sadly, I can't find my early screenshots, and I think I may have accidentally deleted them :( . I may post some of my newer intersections once I go back to working on my city. I'm recreating my hometown in CS right now, so I'm busy with that :p .
